Successful preparations We enjoyed our time at home of one of our friends January : January On January 10, and later, the winter in Kraków seemed to culminate… In spite of it we enjoyed it walking in the park nearby You can see me… …and Alinka Below is the evidence of winter’s severity – happily quite short February : February There is the old manor close to the park we use to walk to. Unfortunately, also the new apartment sites are being developed nearby… We rest during this busy month walking also in different parks and other nice places March : The Marburgo-Cracoviense Symposium took place, and I had also participated with my presentation „Cognitive-existential theory of spirituality and empirical evidence of its validity.” I cannot provide any picture commemorating this meeting. March Spring is approaching in one of Krakow’s most beautiful parks Our friends got Nobel (name of this dachshund kid) in March, replacing the previous one, who went to the land of never-ending hunting The previous one’s name was Tycjan (after red hair resembling those of Titian) On March 1, 2020, several German scholars from the Marburg University visited us to improve our scientific exchange. The psychology of religion was represented by professor Sebastian Murken. In March we look for flowers at least such as these Or these April : April On April, we often go away of the city and admire quickly developing spring Can you recognize those wild anemones? On Easter, the magnolias had started to blossom in front of the Kings’ Cathedral on the Wawel Castle I WAS TRYING TO SHOOT BEST PHOTOS OF MAGNOLIAS IN THE Kraków’s Botanic Garden Those seemed to be quite nice… Nevertheless, I had still better object to take Alinka also made me some photographs… If you look on my ears – why they are so red?!! It was quite a shock after the Tupolev jet crash in Smolensk with the incomprehensible number of officials on board. President Komorowski (and other politicians not prone to believe in any conspiracy theory) do not hesitate to claim that taking on this flight was the most stupid move ever – worth the Darwin award indeed. This is certainly not the opinion of president Kaczynski’s twin brother, using now his brother’s tomb in the King’s Cathedral on Wawel Castle in Kraków for political purposes Almost all figures laying there were kings and queens! May is the month of innumerable flowers! : May is the month of innumerable flowers! But this year … ..actually, these are not typical – just ferns’ leaves are growing up Kraków was almost flooded, as happened to many places in Poland The threat of flood disappeared soon, so we could enjoy the springtime again! June, the most busy month : June, the most busy month Certainly, I worked not only in my home study, although numerous students’ essays to check out took me quite a bit of time For us, June is also the month of anniversaries… and nice meetings with old pals like Wojtek, who we did not see for many years. Happily, he had just returned from his trip to Guatemala, Honduras and several other countries of that part of the world. On one day by the end of June, Alinka and me celebrated …tieth (?) anniversary of our first date First, on the top viewpoint of Kraków, The Kościuszko Mound There Kraków looks terrific! … including the world’s largest meadow situated in the center of the city Later, we had the very special date ever… at home Also Karolina celebrated her birthday Apart from anniversaries and birthdays, I completed my teaching duties. Then, I presented my initial research evidence on the personality correlates of atheism, at the conference devoted to this issue. It took place in Krakow, at the Krakow’s Technical Academy. By the way – Alinka left home in June for the couple of days, to enhance her fit in Wambierzyce, Lower Silesia, which has also the well known shrine (I took this photo when I arrived there to take Alinka back home) July : July Before we left the city for the longer time, we continued short hikes to beautiful vicinities of Krakow. Here is one of the limestone rock valleys, not more then 10 miles from where we live. Still another time we visited the Krakow’s Botanic Garden, to admire summer flowers… As these… Or as these… …and even those … We did not complain either about flowers on our balcony, where we often had our breakfast Finally, we left for our summer hide-away Ochotnica, to enjoy hiking with friends, Nika (on the right) and Nika’s fiend - Marta Karolina also assisted us for some period – likewise Kudel, this small black creature kept on the leash Typical landscape of the Gorce Mountains … and typical house there Typical church…. … and typical Pope August : August In the midst of summer 2010 we were moving to and back between Ochotnica and Krakow. However, while in the mountains, we also loved to visit the spa resort Szczawnica (15 miles from Ochotnica), just for shopping, drinking good coffee, walking… Also, once we drove to Nowy Sącz, the biggest city in that region, and enjoyed some nice places We loved it! Fancy cafe, isn’t it? … some more photographs from Ochotnica and vicinity : … some more photographs from Ochotnica and vicinity September : September And back to Kraków... …where we hosted Wojtek’s daughter Mira, a gifted singer, who took part in the workshop for students like she This was our last visit to the Botanic Garden… Yet, there are still many beauties of nature in September Last but not least, September is the time to take on university duties. By the end of the month I participated in the meeting on spirituality to present my views on this issue. Alinka was my assistant. The conference took place in Łódź, industrial city, where we enjoyed symbolic meeting with Tuwim, famous Polish poet, and Rubinstein, the best piano player October… : October… …or The Golden Fall During our walks in Podgórze, for us the relatively unknown district of Kraków, we were discovering interesting places and objects New footbridge over the Vistula River St, Joseph’s Church at the Podgórze Market Place Old houses and gardens November : November In Polish – „Listopad” means: month of falling leaves However in the beginning there is still a lot to photograph Nevertheless, the most important was the remodeling of Karolina’s room. This is how it looks like now: We now call this room „Green room,” but een Karolina’s PC still remained, only put on the old „legs” of the sewing machine. December : December Looking from my kitchen window on the misty December night… .. made me aware of the approaching end of the year and winter Is this not the best Christmas decoration? But just after Christmas we moved for five days to the spa resort Krynica. There were also nice Season's decorations… We had wonderful time there … including hot dances on the New Year’s night!
