Other Struggles ELL college students face are: Finance is a struggle that students face when going into higher education Studies show that over half of these college students worked more than twenty hours per week while going to school full time Students were most likely to experience isolation due to work and were least likely to have access to scholarship

What is EOPS?:

What is EOPS? Extended Opportunity Programs and Services ( EOPS ) is a financial aid program of the State of California and Community College districts. It aims to recruit and assist college students who show academic and financial need, considered educationally disadvantaged and or academically underprepared The mission of EOPS is to identify and assist students who are affected by social, economic, educational, or language disadvantages

Considering EOPS? Requirements::

Considering EOPS? Requirements: Have at least 60 transferable semester units Have an overall gpa of at least 2.00 First generation in your family to attend college Have previously been either EOPS or CAL Works (If you were a part of the program at a community college then you automatically in the program again) Be a California resident or have AB540 Status Be an undergraduate Submit EOPS application

What can EOPS offer once admitted?:

What can EOPS offer once admitted? EDUCATIONAL COUNSELING EOP students are assigned a counselor who assist s them the entire time of their enrollment in academic, financial aid, and other school elated matters. COMPUTER LAB The program has its own computer lab with six stations hooked to a printer available for its student’s use. Students can receive up to ten sheets of paper per printing session! EOP GRANT Students must submit a FAFSA or California Dream Act Application to be considered. In addition, foster youth or wards of the court may qualify for additional services through the Guardian Scholars Program .

EOPS also offers: EOPS summer program to strengthen your math, English, and other skills. Orientation sessions are provided to help you learn about campus services and programs. During your enrollment in college, you can receive counseling, tutoring, and advising services.
