Slide45: KUROSAWA'S SHICHIROUJI : ( Actor: Daisuke KATOU ‰Á“Œ‘å‰î ) Shichirouji, the third samurai to be recruited, is Kanbei's old comrade and astute "right-hand man" (or "old wife", as Kanbei fondly calls him) during the war. Both are bonded by the battles they have fought together, and are only very happy to see each other having survived the war. Shichirouji doesn't even hesitate when asked to join in the defense of the village; when told by Kanbei that they might die this time round, Shichirouji only smiles. Shichirouji fought alongside Kanbei during the war, and the two of them have been through so many battles together that Kanbei jokingly calls him his wife. Seriously injured during the war, Shichirouji was fished out of the water by Yukino and nursed back to health. And for the past five years, he has been sharing his live with her in Iyashi no Sato. Shichirouji has intended to pursue a simple life with Yukino (who calls him Momotarou), but when Kanbei suddenly turns up, he decides to leave with his old comrade to fight the Nobuseri--much to Yukino's distress. Shichirouji is adept with both the sword and spear. Chu for Tenure and Promotion and Merit: Chu for Tenure and Promotion and Merit Comments by Drs.
