It's got animation slideshow, with sound. I think it's pretty good. The only main fault is that you gotta click or hit space for the slideshow to move. I couldn't make it auto-timed cuz the teachers would have probs viewing it then :D Comments Posting comment... Premium member Presentation Transcript Slide 1: Geometry in Real Life By, Shriganesh.P.GSlide 2: There are many applications of geometry around us. Geometry can be observed everyday, almost everywhere. In this project, we shall have a look at a few of them. These include: Geometry in Nature. Geometry in Daily life. Geometry in Science & Technology. Geometry in Sports & Games. Geometry in Architecture.1. Geometry in Nature: 1. Geometry in Nature Fruits and Vegetables Apples, Tomatoes and Grapes etc are spherical in shape. Geometry is found abundantly in nature. We are going to see a few of these in this project…Slide 4: ii. Astronomy Sun, Moon, all the Planets, Pluto etc are Spherical in Shape.Slide 5: iii. Others The combs in a Honey Comb is Hexagonal in shape. The Bark of a Tree is Cylindrical in shape.Slide 6: 2. Geometry in Daily life Daily, we come across a lot of geometrical objects in our life. We fail to recognize these, even though they’re in front of our eyes. Let’s have a look at a few of these… A Cone in a Cone ice cream A Cylindrical LPG cylinderSlide 7: The Surface of the table is Rectangular in shape A Cylindrical fire extinguisher A Cuboidal pencil boxSlide 8: A Cubical cardboard box A Cylindrical garbage binSlide 9: 3. Geometry in Science & Technology There is a saying that “Mathematics is the queen of all Sciences”. This is no doubt proved when we find geometry in a lot of Scientific things. Let’s go through a few of these examples… The Surface of the tire is Circular in shapeSlide 10: A mobile is almost Cuboidal in shape A Cuboidal television or T.V. for shortSlide 11: A Cuboidal personal computer or PC for short The screen of watches are usually in the shape of a Square or a CircleSlide 12: 4 . Geometry in Sports & Games Well, in addition to the above 3 topics, Geometry is also found in Sports & Games. We shall have a look at a few examples of this… Most balls are Spherical in shape, such as football or tennis ballSlide 13: The hitting area of the tennis racket is Circular in shape The playfield of football (and some other games) is Rectangular in shapeSlide 14: The playfield of baseball is quite an interesting example for Geometry. It’s 3 bases are Square in shape. The pitcher’s mound is a Rectangle inside a Circle. The home plate is a Pentagon. And the whole pitch is a Diamond or a Square(can be called both, in this case). There is an Arc outside the pitch too. There are many more geometrical shapes in a baseball field, but it is further more advanced.Slide 15: 5. Geometry in Architecture Geometry is followed by every architectural piece, may it be a huge historical monument, such as the Taj Mahal itself or may it be a humble home of an ordinary person. Geometry is present in Architecture from Taj Mahal, in India, to the Egyptian Pyramids, to the White house in USA. Since it is such a wide topic, let’s have a look at a few examples for this… P.T.O.Slide 16: The Taj Mahal, one of the best architectural piece in not only India, but in the whole world, follows geometry very well. The dome is almost in the shape of a Sphere and the whole building resembles a Cuboid. The two towers are Cylindrical in shape. These are just a few examples.Slide 17: The Great Pyramids of Egypt, are a great example of Square-based Pyramids.Slide 18: The White House, the official residence and workplace of the President of USA, is basically Cuboidal in shape. The pillars are Cylindrical.Slide 19: This is an ordinary house in India. And still, it follows the absolutely same Geometry. The main body is Cuboidal and the pillars, which support it are Cylindrical in shape.Slide 20: These 5 topics that I’ve discussed in this project are just a few of the many things in which there is Geometry. I hope this project was informative. By, Shriganesh.P.G Class X-B Roll No. : 35 K.V. No.2 Kasargod You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
