Five parts of a complete sentence : Capital letter Subject Predicate Complete thought Terminal punctuationSlide 3: Step 1: Comparison Compare the following examples and tell which are the complete sentences while which are not. 1. I have been studying English since I was 12 years old. 2. go out for a walk 3. He gave me. 4. The red car slowly. 5. My sister will do it right away. Demonstrating the complete sentence Sentences 1 and 5 are complete sentences. Numbers 2,3,4 are incomplete sentences, because they lack the five parts of a complete sentence.Slide 4: Step 2: Explanation Some of the common mistakes made in sentences are: the run-on sentence, wordy sentence and sentence fragment. For example: She got up early, she went to school by bike . (run-on sentence) --- She got up early. She went to school by bike. or She got up early, and she went to school by bike. There is no more space available. Students read the sentences to their partner and get the peer feedback. The students will be chosen to write the sentences on the blackboard. The class will give the feedback to the sentence writing. The teacher will provide feedback on the written sentences on the blackboard. The students will take notes and consolidate how to write the complete sentences using the past continuous tense.Slide 7: Review the process of writing a complete sentence 1. Reviewing the five parts of a complete sentence; 2. Pay attention to the verb construction when using the past continuous tense; 3. It’s important to write complete sentence in writing, because we should let the audience understand what we want to express; 4.
