College Grants : 

College Grants The biggest sources of free money these days are federal and state grants.

There are 4 basic types of grants; Institutional, Federal Pell, Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity, and State. :

The first step is filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), mailed to the U.S. Department of Education or Free Application for Federal Student Aid which you can submit online, find at schools' financial-aid offices. 2) Remember the deadline, the earliest you can submit your form for the following school year is Jan. 1. Better is to file as soon as possible because many colleges' aid deadlines are in early to 15th of February, and their reserves of grant money may have diminish substantially by the time they actually stop accepting applications of aid. 3) The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) requires copies of your previous year's tax return and if you don't have that ready, you can include a return with estimated numbers and update them when you get better numbers and get the best grades.
