Premium member Presentation Transcript City of Stockholm Intelligent Traffic Management: City of Stockholm Intelligent Traffic Management Business need Ever increasing traffic, rising oil prices and spiraling environmental concerns prompted the City of Stockholm is Sweden to implement and run a congestion charging system. Solution On 12 July 2004 Sweden's Road Administration awarded IBM a contract to help them build, integrate, implement and run a congestion charging system in Stockholm. This on demand solution will help Stockholm City meet the needs and challenges in a flexible and scalable way as the nerve of the congestion charge system: the call centre, the payment channels and the services places are fully scalable and can be adapted in response to changing needs once the one year test period has been completed. The pilot project will run between June 12, 2005 and July 31, 2006. The project builds on a wide range of IBM competencies from system analysis to development, integration, implementation and maintenance of the system and several IBM brands have contributed to this win; BCS, AMS, ITS and Software.
