Vision, goals, hopes, aspirations Breakdowns, barriers, blindspots, “kafuffle,” “stuff,” “old baggage”or our “story” today Competencies (measurable and taught) Commitments (we’re in the middle of life) Views of the world (structure of interpretation) Stress and Adrenal Function: Stress and Adrenal Function How do “HBs” experience excess stress? Body has two stress glands - ADRENAL glands on top of your kidneys, with many interconnected functions: digestion, blood pressure and salt regulation, blood sugar regulation anti-inflammatory properties Impact of Stress on the Body: Impact of Stress on the Body With stress of any kind, the adrenals start pumping adrenaline and other hormones. Increases blood flowing to the heart and muscles and Pull the blood away from your digestion Stimulate the nervous system to speed up the heart rate. They prepare your body for stress. As you push your body over the years coping with stress, living on caffeine, nicotine, sugar and alcohol with little sleep, the adrenals eventually become exhausted. Adrenal Exhaustion: Adrenal Exhaustion In this state, the adrenals don't produce like they used to and the following symptoms can occur: Salt cravings Low energy Fluid retention Weight gain Blood sugar problems Difficulty getting out of bed Need for caffeine to get going Hot flashes Out of breath when going up stairs Arthritis High or low blood pressure Allergies Difficulty handling stress Extreme Self Care: Extreme Self Care Diet and ADRENAL REJUVINATION The adrenals need salt (sea salt), healthy fats, vitamin C and copper to run effectively.
