Tailor your keywords to the database, i.e., use “library” as a keyword in ERIC, but not in Library Lit.
Watch for subject terms and words in titles and texts that can expand or focus your search.
If one approach doesn’t work, try another, i.e. use keywords if there’s no established subject term.
Look for patterns: If a work or author is frequently cited, consider it seriously for your “top ten.”
Start early, in case you need to request delivery of books or print-only articles.
