Work, productivity, availability, accomplishments, function Cease working & cease the mental gymnastics that accompany down time No more feeling guilty about it HUMAN DOING vs.HUMAN BEING: HUMAN DOING vs. HUMAN BEING In celebrating a Sabbath, we join the generations of believers in setting aside time/a day that we are precious, honored, & profoundly loved by God & not because of what we do/produce/accomplish. SABBATH: SABBATH Luke 10:42 – Mary & Martha Practice being w/people simply for the relational connection Ceasing & pouring out into relationship SABBATH: SABBATH CEASING RESTING EMBRACING FEASTING SABBATH: SABBATH Let me say again that I need you Let me say again that I’m thankful for you Every breath I have is Yours, do what you will Now say again, that You love me Say again that You’re so proud of me Tell me You never leave me alone SABBATH: SABBATH How will I know it’s You? Will I recognize Your face? It’s been so long since I Have sat at Your feet Will You recognize me? SABBATH: SABBATH Forgive me, I know I’ve let You down then For repentance, kindness is measured out but I’m thinking I should lie in ashes Then I remember You are the faithful one And You remember I so well-intentioned And your grace pours out over me again SABBATH: SABBATH How will I know it’s You?
