Students will not be allowed to attend new student orientation unless they have taken an acceptable TSI assessment or are TSI exempt

ACEBS ProgramUTPA Concurrent Enrollment: ACEBS Program UTPA Concurrent Enrollment Give college-bound high school students an opportunity to take introductory biology and provide them with a research experience
Students enroll in Biology 1402 lecture and lab for Summer Session I 2006
Tuition, fees and books provided for 10 students

Participant will be paired with a UTPA Biology Department faculty mentor for the 5-week duration of the program to conduct a research project
Mentor will receive $750 to purchase supplies for the participant’s project

Qualification Requirements:
“B” average in 12 hours of AP credit, and/or CE credit earned at UTPA (from 4 separate exams or courses in different subject areas; credit must include both English 1301 or higher and Math 1340* or higher)
OR
“B” average in 6 hours of AP credit, and/or CE credit earned at UTPA in both English 1301 or higher and Math 1340* or higher and have a minimum ACT 24 composite (with at least 19 English and 19 Math) or a minimum SAT score of 1110 (with at least 500 Verbal and 500 Math).
*Business majors, Math 1321 or higher is acceptable
