George III :
George III George III has long been remembered for losing the American colonies and his mental instability.
George started his reign as a poorly educated young man. However, by the time of his death he had become one of the most cultured and educated leaders in Europe.

George III and the British National Library :
George III and the British National Library George III is credited with being one of the greatest book collectors of his time.
During the King’s reign the royal collection grew to 65,000 printed books and 19,000 pamphlets.
The collection was housed first at the Old Palace in Kew and later moved to Buckingham house. The collection was open for public use and anyone was permitted to view the prized items.
In 1823, the collection was donated to the British Public. In 1828, the books were moved to the British Museum.
