WHAT IS A DESERT Desert host plants and animals living in what strikes many human environments. Although In most ecosystems plants complete for sunlight, here most plants adopted to minimize the effects of solar energy

COLD DESERT Cold deserts has hot summers but extremely cold winters for example the desert complex in Western north America

TEMPRATURE The winters in these deserts are extremely cold and are very long . The summers are relatively warmer and moist with abundant rainfall. The temperature may reach up to 26°C in summer

SOIL: 

SOIL The soil of these deserts is silty and having a high salt content and is heavy. The soil is also porous at places.

LIFE: 

LIFE There is a large population of plants and animals found here. Most plants are deciduous and tall here, and have spikes instead of leaves. Animals include kangaroo rats, pocket mice, jack rabbits, kit fox, deer and coyote because of very Cold weather there are very few reptiles and amphibians
