About the Artists SUSAN TITUS is a native Californian working primarily in watercolor on paper and canvas. Susan won a Best in Painting Award in the Manhattan Arts International Healing Power of Art 2007 juried exhibition. CHARLOTTE HALLAM's family moved to Carmel from Oakland in 1946. Charlotte retired as a U.S. Administrative Law Judge and returned to Carmel full time in 1999 and has been drawing and painting ever since. She uses oil, acrylic, charcoal, pastels, and watercolors. Charlotte loves painting the sea and mountains of the coast.

Slide 7:

About the Artists ELSIE DILL is a native Californian. She was born in Oakland, but has resided in Salinas for many years. Elsie is known as a multi-media artist working in collage (paper and cloth), oil, watercolor, multi-media, ink, yarns, batik, weaving, and basketry. DAVID ALLAN brings amazing courage, strength and humor to every role. Both he and his students have won many awards. Recently, they worked together to create a stunning mural in tribute to California firefighters.

Slide 8:

About the Artists RICHARD PUCKETT put the Fort Ord Arts Center on the map as the largest Army Arts and Crafts Installation in the world from 1960 to 1986. He now devotes his time to painting, consulting, and writing a book on Ford Ord Arts & Crafts History. Although ROSE SLOAN’s life long interest was art, it has only been since she retired from teaching in 2001 that she has been able to dedicate herself full time to painting. It has been a life long dream that has finally come to pass.

Slide 9:

About the Artists THOMAS HAWLEY has lived on the Monterey Peninsula for 35 years. Inspired by its natural beauty and by talented artists such as Armin Hanson, William Ritschel, Charles Rollo Peters, and Charlton Fortune, who have made the Peninsula their home, he has found great satisfaction in creating impressionist oil renderings of both landscape and sea. CARLA GRACE BALDASSARI has been teaching visual arts for 39 years. She has encouraged many of her students to become painters. Recently retired from teaching full time will allow her to create and express her passion for life with the use of a vibrant palette. "¡Viva la Vida Multicolor Expresiva!"

Slide 10:

About the Artists LAURIE MYERS lives on a ranch and is surrounded by horses, cowboy gear and a cowboy. They all inspire her every painting. As an artist Laurie is self-taught -- she has a special style that incorporates an impressionist approach with a very realistic subject matter. MARV ANDERSON is a member of the Salinas Valley Art Association. He has done a number of amazing Steinbeck country landscapes and has frequently participated in Arts Council juried exhibitions.

Slide 11:

About the Artists SARA C. ANDERSON sketched her way through elementary schools, took visual notes in college and earned a BA in Education and then a BFA.  She still learns and loves visual expression, placing the human element into her paintings. JOANNE MARTHA BAINE is a native Californian and Carmel Valley artist. She takes great delight in painting scenes of the central coast. Joanne is a member of the Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association. She also contributed artwork to the 2009 Arts Council Calendar.

Slide 12:

About the Artists TOM DEYERLE is a local photographer and landscape architect whose work reflects his deep love of nature. He was born in San Francisco and has lived in Monterey County for 40 years. His passion for photography began at age 13 when he started developing his own black and white prints. He has now joyfully embraced the digital age. BARBARA SVETLIK’s motto is “So many colors…so little time…” You can find her fine artwork at the Venture Gallery or the Barbara Svetlik Art Gallery.
