Mark 16:19-20 :

Mark 16:19-20 The Ascension of Jesus

The Ascension of Jesus :

The Ascension of Jesus 19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that attended it. Amen.

Slide 3:

The disciples stood and watched, as Jesus began rising into the sky and resumed his place at the “right hand of God.” Jesus physical presence had left them but the Holy Spirit would soon come to comfort them and enable them to spread the gospel (Acts 2:1-4). Jesus’ work of salvation was completed, and he sat at the right hand of the Father (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 1:3; 8:1). Mark’s gospel is a fast paced gospel which not only shows Jesus power but also shows his servanthood.

Slide 4:

Jesus had turned the world upside down. His teachings and the story of his life continue to force people to re-evaluate their lives. Typically, our world views “power” as a way to control others but Jesus used his power and authority to serve and thus benefit others. He freed Mary Magdalene of seven demons, healed the sick, served the needs of his disciples and freely gave up his earthly life for our benefit. As a planet revolves around the sun, our lives should revolve around Jesus and his teachings.

Faith :

Faith Faith is a highway leading to the Father’s house. We can park on the shoulder of the road or we can put ourselves in “drive,” follow the road and enjoy the journey while helping other travelers we meet along the way. Praying for God’s help and seeking opportunities to serve others will be the fuel that adds joy to the journey.
