Important Decisions Are you facing some important decisions?
Decisions about:
College
Work
Friends
Family
Those decisions may involve a lifetime of involvement.
They may bring about lasting changes in your life. The real question is do you look out for yourself or others?
Are you willing to turn your back on your own desires so that you can help others?
Think of the “cool kid” in school that hangs out with a “not so popular kid,” instead of hanging out with the cool ones.
Reaching out :
Reaching out Consider the kid that gives up a summer vacation to spend with their ageing parents.
What about the kids that help out at the Soup Kitchen on Sunday instead of going to the beach. When you turn your back on your own wants and needs that’s what Jesus calls denying yourself.
That’s why Christ says if anyone would come after me let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me.
Do You Really Care? :
Do You Really Care? Jesus did that for us.
May we make that decision to put others above ourselves.
Remember what Jesus said in the Gospel of Mark Chapter 10, “43 But it shall not be so among you; but whoever would be great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all.
45 For the Son of man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mk. 10:43-45)
