Psalm 126:1-2, 2-3, 4-5, 6 :The Lord has done great things for us. We are filled with joy Psalm 126:1-2, 2-3, 4-5, 6

Slide 2:1? When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. ?2? Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” ?3? The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad. ?4? Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like the watercourses in the Negeb! 5? May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy! ?6? He that goes forth weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him. The Holy Bible : Revised Standard Version Second Catholic edition (2006), with the ecclesiastical approval of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Thomas Nelson Publishing for Ignatius Press.

Slide 3:“those who dream,” v. 1 After being held captive in Babylon, being able to return to Jerusalem to worship God must have seemed like a dream to the Jews. On our way to the confessional don’t you feel like a captive to your sins? When you leave the confessional doesn’t it feel like a dream ? You are free of your captivity to sin and restored to friendship and worship of God. “Restore our fortunes,” (v.1)prior to the captivity people were doing well in Israel, now they would have to begin again and work hard just to get back to where they were prior to the captivity. ?”May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy!” (v. 5) This means that people who are suffering, in pain, and crying due to life’s circumstances will find joy when God enters the picture.
