Malaysian Health Promotion Board   (Lembaga Promosi Kesihatan Malaysia) was established on 1 st April 2007, established under the Ministry of Health ( MoH ). Role of the Health Promotion Board: To promote healthy lifestyle by taking actions or organizing activities that can strengthen health skills and ability of each individual , group or society besides improving the social situation and environment to ultimately improve health status of the Malaysian public . Good health is a major resource for social, economic and personal development and an important dimension of quality of lif e. Political, economic, social, cultural, environmental, behavioural and biological factors can all favour health or be harmful to it. Health promotion action aims at making these conditions favourable through advocacy for health.

HEALTH PROMOTION: WHERE DO WE START? From disease/conditions.(e.g., dengue fever, avian flu etc..) From social issues (e.g., Road Safety, Environment, Tobacco control) From lifestyles. (e.g., Inactivity, fast food syndrome) From settings ( e.g., Workplace, Home, Schools, housing area)
