Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) : 

Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) Provide education and training to meet the technological, scientific, medical, and other professional requirements of the Air Force Offers Undergraduate, Graduate, Doctoral programs at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio, and in civilian institutions across the country Three AFIT programs which you can receive full tuition assistance at Wright Patterson AFB in civilian universities or in civilian industries

Tuition Assistance : 

Tuition Assistance Available to active duty members Encourages personnel to pursue voluntary, off duty educational opportunities Air Force pays 100% of tuition costs (cap of $250/semester hour or $166/quarter hour, $4500 / year) Individual pays remaining (+ fees/books)

Types of Pay : 

Types of Pay Basic Special Incentive

Basic Pay : 

Basic Pay Based On: Grade Time In Service 6 years 2 years 15 years 24 years

Special Pay : 

Special Pay Individuals who use specialized skills or are assigned in specified locations.

Incentive Pay : 

Incentive Pay Individuals required to perform hazardous duties

Allowances : 

Allowances Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH) Basic Allowance For Subsistence (BAS) Uniform And Equipment Allowance

Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) : 

Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) Not paid while living on base Based On Grade Dependency Status Geographic Location

Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS) : 

Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS) Same For All Officers $202.76 per Month

Uniform and Equipment Allowance : 

Uniform and Equipment Allowance Officers One time payment of $400 Enlisted Annual Payment (on member’s anniversary date in service)

Leave : 

Leave Use or lose policy : 75-day carry over

Types of Leave : 

Types of Leave Ordinary - Planned vacation, counts against leave balance Sick Or Convalescent - Does NOT count against leave balance Emergency - Unplanned, counts against leave balance

Medical Services : 

Medical Services Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Every location has an MTF varying in size from a hospital to a clinic Deployed locations have a mobile Air Transportable Hospital Tricare – Military Managed Care Program (Military HMO) Medical and Dental care provided to active duty member (automatically enrolled) Family members can enroll

Legal Services : 

Legal Services Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) provides legal assistance to military members and their families (free of charge) Civil Law: Notary Services, Power of Attorney, Wills, Lease Reviews and Tax Assistance Claims: Associated with Moves (PCS) Area Defense Counsel (ADC) provides legal advice and representation Military Law Only: Administrative Actions, Disciplinary Actions and Criminal Matters

Liturgical Services : 

Liturgical Services Provide spiritual services for base population Confidential counseling Morale
