More than 400 Rotarians from across Canada and the US met in Richmond for two days of discussion on membership development, new clubs and retention of members.
Joint Wheelchair Project :Joint Wheelchair Project Donated a total of 278 wheelchairs to South Africa through Wheelchair Foundation Canada.
One third of these wheelchairs will be for children and the remaining for adults.

Hospital is being established by Rose Charities, another project after their successful eye clinic project in Cambodia.
Rotary Club of Smithers & Smithers Alpine :Rotary Club of Smithers & Smithers Alpine COMMUNITY RUN Both clubs and the entire community are working to develop a run joining the ski area and the mountain to the town. The dual-purpose winter ski run and summer trail will be 75-metre-wide and cover 3,700 vertical feet.
The estimated cost is $50,000 and most of the funds have been raised. Completion target date 2008. The project is the vision of Jos Konst of the Smithers club, he is the project co-ordinator.

The centre will be named The Interact Community centre to honour the support from the Interactors for the past two years.

Rotary Club of Steveston/Rich Sunrise :Rotary Club of Steveston/Rich Sunrise VOLUNTEER DENTISTRY IN GUATEMALA In September a dozen volunteers from both clubs led by Dr. Doug Nielsen, and 1,000 lbs. of dental equipment arrived in San Juan la Laguna, Guatemala. The team treated over 500 people.
Funded by a Rotary Volunteer Service Grant, Steveston Rotary, Guatemala Rotary, and their own individual donations.

The symbol of peace and hope was more than 3 years in the making and is the first Korean Memorial in Western Canada.
The memorial commemorates the sacrifice made by the 36 BC soldiers who courageously fought and died during the Korean War (1950-1953) and Peace-Keeping (1953-1956). THE AMBASSADOR OF PEACE

Parent received a passport with their child’s description, finger prints and photograph. In case of abduction the passport is given to police. Funds raised will assist all 3 partners with respective causes. During their annual fundraiser dinner, the club raised over $34,000 for Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Disabled Individuals Association and Shelter Box.

Rotary Club of Vancouver Quadra :Rotary Club of Vancouver Quadra 2nd EAST SIDE FOOT CLINIC – March 8, 2008 Joined Salvation Army – Harbour Light and BC Association of Podiatrists to distribute new and reconditioned running shoes and to promote general foot health.
250 street people were able to wash and disinfect their feet, obtain a new pair of socks and shoes. 35 were also treated by a podiatrist for foot infections or other ailments. Future clinics are planned at approximately 3 month intervals.
Rotary Club of Vancouver Quadra :Rotary Club of Vancouver Quadra SISTER FAMILIES – SINCE SEPTEMBER 2004 A joint project with Rotary Club of Bacolod West, Philippines, the goal is to find permanent adoptive local homes for abandoned, relinquished, or orphaned babies and toddlers in Philippines. Since the program's inception, 55 babies have been placed in a nurturing environment with local families. The parents who adopted children have formed a very active Parent Support and Education Group called "Heaven Sent".

Rotary Club of Whistler :Rotary Club of Whistler Working with the Scouts to build the cabin at Shadow Lake just north of Whistler. The cabin is a recycled A-frame that was originally built in Whistler Creekside in the 1960’s. They cut it into 8 pieces and have resurrected it at Shadow Lake.
