Vlasta Burian April 9, 1891 – January 31, 1962 king of comedians, incomparable artist, vocal imitator, author of unconventional fairy tales for children his performances were playful and tried to parody obtuseness, pomposity and falsely nobility in 1925 established his own Vlasta Burian’s Theatre which overcame an agricultural crisis and ended in 1944 when the Nazis closed theatres in sound films he played with big success and in 30s made even 17 films. Some of theme were made in German version and so Burian became a star also in Vienna and Berlin in 1943 Burian’s dream came true – he played a role of owner of travelling theatre in Talich’s studied Thebartered Bride in the National Theatre.
