The Purpose of Tech Prep…..: 

The Purpose of Tech Prep….. Bridge …. Secondary +Post-Secondary +Business… through a seamless system. Development of a well-prepared, skilled workforce.

A Tech Prep Program …..: 

A Tech Prep Program ….. Consists of at least a '2+2' Program, combining a minimum of 2 years of high school (secondary school) with 2 years of college (post-secondary). Provides a 'seamless', non-duplicative and sequential course of study under an articulation agreement between consortium participants.

A New York State Tech Prep Student….: 

A New York State Tech Prep Student…. …. is one who has signed a Tech Prep Enrollment Form and meets the following criteria: Receives academic content through applied learning, Completes a sequence of two or more standards-based career oriented courses that provide technical skills, Is enabled to be employed in skilled entry level jobs and complete the post-secondary portion of a secondary/post-secondary program, If a post-secondary student, has completed the secondary portion in an articulated, State registered post-secondary Tech Prep Program, Is a completer of a two-year associate degree program, a two-year certificate program, or a two-year apprenticeship that follows secondary Tech Prep instruction.

Tech Prep : 

Tech Prep Integrates - academic, - career and technical instruction, - work-based and worksite learning Builds student competence - in mathematics, science, reading, writing, communications, economics,and - in workplace skills through applied, contextual academics, and integrated instruction, in a coherent sequence of courses;

Tech Prep : 

Tech Prep Provides technical preparation in a career field such as: - engineering technology, - applied science, - mechanical, industrial, or practical art or trade, - agriculture, health occupations, business, or applied economics. Leads to: - an associate or baccalaureate degree, or - a post-secondary certificate in a specific career field, - placement in appropriate employment or further education.
