Premium member Presentation Transcript CITY STREAM WATCH 2005: CITY STREAM WATCH 2005 GREENS CREEK CLEAN-UP AUGUST 18 -20thWhat we were cleaning up: What we were cleaning up 2km section of creek stretching from Innes Rd. to Hwy 417 This is the first section of stream that runs through commercial and developed land and it shows The area we covered: The area we covered Thursday Morning Thursday Evening Friday Morning Saturday Morning Volunteers began early Thursday morning to see what they could find : Volunteers began early Thursday morning to see what they could find By the end of Thursday we cleaned up approx. 600m and had a truck full of garbage pulled from the stream : By the end of Thursday we cleaned up approx. 600m and had a truck full of garbage pulled from the stream We even found some things to play with : We even found some things to play with Thursday evening we didn’t cover much distance but we sure did find a lot of garbage: Thursday evening we didn’t cover much distance but we sure did find a lot of garbage We pulled out many tires, a dissembled car (axle, seat, hood, dashboard), futon mattress and of course a bikeAt the end of the evening we sure found a lot of trash: At the end of the evening we sure found a lot of trashFriday morning we started bright and early again with a crew of 9: Friday morning we started bright and early again with a crew of 9As we worked up our way up the stream the bags of garbage started to pile up: As we worked up our way up the stream the bags of garbage started to pile upNo one said you wouldn’t get dirty, just ask Ashley.: No one said you wouldn’t get dirty, just ask Ashley.Access at this point was difficult so we had to get creative: Access at this point was difficult so we had to get creativeAfter two solid days of cleanup the dumpster was filling up: After two solid days of cleanup the dumpster was filling upAfter a hard mornings work its nice to be rewarded with a good lunch: After a hard mornings work its nice to be rewarded with a good lunchWhich we enjoyed in the rain…: Which we enjoyed in the rain… Lunch was courtesy of Monterey InnSaturday morning was a rainy one but everyone showed with smiles ready to finish the stretch : Saturday morning was a rainy one but everyone showed with smiles ready to finish the stretch Once again lots of garbage was found and dragged out: Once again lots of garbage was found and dragged outAnd finally we filled the dumpster: And finally we filled the dumpsterWHAT A SUCCESS!!!: WHAT A SUCCESS!!!
