Is there a device like Brita that filters calcium and softens water?
Brita still leaves much visible white particles in my filtered water from Riverside, CA.
If Brita doesn’t work your water must be terrible. It is the leading home water filtration brand and Im sure there are plenty of knockoffs but if the real one isn’t working you should get your water tested.
Slide 3:
Weve been using the Brita pitcher for about 2 weeks now. Last night I poured me a glass in a white cup. A few minutes later there was a black ring of the charcoal dust at the bottom of the cup. Is that ok to drink? I know it says to run water through it a few times before using and weve done that.
youll be fine. you can ingest the charcoal in small amounts and nothing will happen to you. charcoal is a natural filter so it will pass through your system without any worries. i once asked my boss(who is a chemist) about this and he explained the whole process to me. i dont exactly remember what happens but i do remember that youll be fine. just rinse out your water filter or just replace it. i have been using the brita water filters for years and im still alive.

make sure your water line is producing water to your fridge. There is usually a valve somewhere in the line either where it was tapped or at the end close to where you attach to the fridge. If your line produces water then I would take the replacement and make sure the guys stick around until you get it working. If you can make ice, but no water at the dispenser then sounds like you have an internal issue. I believe the water for the ice and the water dispenser both come from the filter first so I dont think it would be the filter.

waters critical role in our health, almost all U.S. and European water is held and managed by regulated utilities whose growth rates and expenses are capped by government fiat.
The best way to play water is probably through the companies that supply pollution-control, purification, pipeline construction and irrigation-control products, though theres nothing wrong with owning a couple of successful water utilities as well. A key example, China has 20% of the world’s population but only 7% of the water.
