The donors at the 3 blood drives at Bay Port High School this year resulted in the donation of 270 pints of blood. This potentially helped save the lives of over 800 people. The high schools and college blood drives are about 15% of the blood collected during the school year.

2007 BPHS Prom 425 students attended the “Masquerade Ball” at the KI Convention Center on Saturday, April 14th from 8-12. Dan Noreika and Kim Perkins were crowned King and Queen.

Howard Elementary School Second Graders Published Poets There is great excitement in the second grade classrooms! Some of our students have been chosen to have their poems published! These students will have their poems published in the 2007 edition of the Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans. The following poets have gained this recognition. Caring & Sharing at Forest Glen Elementary School Mrs. LaSota’s Kindergarten class has been involved in a caring project each month of this school year! Projects have included raising money for the Heavenly Hats Foundation, collecting food, clothing or toys for needy families, making cards for soldiers in Iraq, collecting money to purchase Christmas gifts for needy children, sending positive letters to teachers, recycling cans to raise money to adopt a whale and picking up litter outside around Forest Glen.

May the force be with you! …the Fitness Force that is! The teachers at Suamico School have teamed up to get healthy! During the third quarter, the teachers formed Fitness Force teams and each member logged the number of minutes they exercised each week.

BPHS Academic Teams Success BPHS Academic Teams: Biology placed first. Social Studies and Math placed second in the games. This is an annual academic competition from teams around the greater metro area. We had one of our best years in history.

Jump Rope for American Heart Association Forest Glen Elementary Students have raised over $40,000 for the American Heart Association in the last three years for their annual Jump Rope for Heart Event. They were the number 2 school in Wisconsin and #5 in the nation last year. This year they raised a total of $10,452.00 for 2007. Meadowbrook Elementary raised 10,235.91 for 2007 and this will make them a top school in the Nation for this year. They have raised a total of 24,776.91 overall in the past three years. Suamico Elementary raised $9,420 in 2005, $9,600 for 2006 and this year $4,051

Bay View Middle School National History Day Competition at UWGB Brittany Kroll and Josie Ellison (Rouse Simmons- Christmas Tree Ship Exhibit) were chosen for a special award "Best Project Representing Northeastern Wisconsin History". They were awarded this by the Wisconsin Historical Society along with $50! They were the only ones chosen all day for this special award. Kelsey Paulson and Alyssa Hangartner (Beyond the Burger: The Life and Times of Ray Kroc) were selected as the winners of the Junior Division Exhibit Category and will be advancing to the state competition in Madison on April 28th. Frank Befay and Paul Karpenko (What Have We Done: A Documentary on the Manhatan Project) were selected as the winners of the Junior Division Documentary Category and will ALSO be advancing to the state competition in Madison on April 28th.

Both the Boys and Girls Track and Field teams won the final Bay Conference Track and Field Championship. The boy’s team set a new indoor championship record for total points scored.

Lineville Intermediate Breakfast Program started in February, Howard and Meadowbrook Elementary offer breakfast also.

Bay Port Pirates Dance Team received the follow awards for their 2006-07 season competitions: Nationals: Poms - 1st Place and “Over-All” in the combination of all divisions; Funk – 2nd Place; Jazz – 4th Place and they received the “Award of Excellence” for overall competition State.

Jacqueline Bergman Twice a week for 17 years, she has been a mentor and parent volunteer for the Gifted & Talented program. As a former Language Arts teacher, she has shared her talents with hundreds of students at Meadowbrook and Lineville

Lineville’s sixth grade champion, Caleb, & Bay View’s Matt, 8th grade champion advance to the State Word Power Challenge Championship.

Mitch, 8th grade student at Bay View, finished 3rd in the regional Math Counts Competition, and 18th out of 138 at the State Math Counts Competition. He also placed 1st and 4th at the Metro Math League Competitions this winter

Bay View Middle School placed 2nd nationally in the fall Scholastic Book Fair 3 semesters in a row.

Lineville community has been involved in numerous activities trying to raise money for both families of children who are battling cancer. Most of those activities took place during the week of February 26th and a grand total raised during that week was $4,747.17!!!! This money has been split between the two families and will be used to help with medical bills.
