What is an IED?: 

What is an IED? The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) IED definition: Device placed and/or fabricated in an improvised manner incorporating destructive, lethal, noxious, pyrotechnic, or incendiary chemicals and designed to destroy, incapacitate, harass, or distract An IED may incorporate military stores but is often devised from nonmilitary components

What Is an IED?: 

What Is an IED? U.S. Federal Government guidelines define an IED as: A modified explosive device built with available materials to achieve specific results The Federal term for IED is “Destructive Device (DD)” and can be found in 26USC section 5845(f).
