There is no singular definition or strategy for cultural or heritage tourism because each of us works with the resources that are available. While each individual program is unique all of us involved in Cultural Tourism share the same vision: Introducing visitors to what makes our home towns, cities, regions or states unique and fascinating. San Francisco by the numbers : San Francisco by the numbers San Francisco hosted 15.8 million visitors in 2006. These visitors spent $7.8 billion in local businesses. In 2005, 15.4 million people attended nonprofit art events, 50% were local and 50 percent were non-local.
