(27) Xena Nurjaman (31) Air Pollution: Air Pollution Air pollution is the presence of one or more physical substance, chemical, or biological in the atmosphere in the amount that may endanger human health, animals, and plants, disrupt the aesthetics and comfort, or property damage. Various kinds of air pollution causes Acid Rain N ormal pH of rainwater is 5.6 due to the CO 2 in the atmosphere. Air pollutants such as SO 2 and NO 2 react with water to form acid rain and lower the pH of rain water .The Process of Acid Rain: The Process of Acid RainThe Impact on Acid Rain: The Impact on Acid RainSlide 5: Greenhouse Effect The greenhouse effect caused by the presence of CO 2 , CFC, methane, ozone, and troposphere N 2 O which absorbs solar radiation reflected by the earth's surface. As a result of heat trapped in the troposphere and the cause of global warming phenomenon. The Process of Greenhouse Effect: The Process of Greenhouse EffectSlide 7: Damage to the ozone layer Ozone is a molecule that is composed of three oxygen atoms. In stratosphere layer, ultraviolet rays can split oxygen molecules into two oxygen atoms. Free oxygen atom (O) is highly reactive, so as to meet the O 2 molecules will react to form ozone molecules (O 3 ). The ozone layer in the stratosphere (altitude of 20-35 km) is the natural protector of the earth that serves to filter ultraviolet B radiation from the sun.Slide 8: The formation and decomposition of ozone molecules (O 3 ) occurs naturally in the stratosphere. CFC emissions that reach the stratosphere is very stable and causes the rate of decomposition of ozone molecules faster than its formation, forming the holes in the ozone layer . The ozone layer has a function as a filter ultraviolet radiation from sunlight. If the ozone layer becomes thinner, it will increase the intensity of ultraviolet radiation and cause skin cancerOzone depletion : Ozone depletion Ozone layer depletion is due to disruption of the equilibrium reaction of the formation and decomposition of ozone molecules in the stratosphere. Observations indicate the occurrence of atmospheric conditions reducing the number of molecules of ozone globally, particularly over the South Pole region (Antarctica) that have shaped the Ozone hole at a certain time period.Slide 10: The methods to overcome pollution : Not to burn rubbish in the yard Immediately put out the stove/wood fire if cooking is finished Not to smoke in the room , mainly in AC rooms Not to use a refrigerator or AC which uses CFC To grow decorative plants in the yard or flower vases Industries/factories must make chimneys Etc.The Effort for Prevent of Global Warming: The Effort for Prevent of Global Warming Ground Pollution: Ground Pollution Ground polution is a situation where man made chemicals enter and alter the natural soil environment. I f the chemical effect on the lowest form of life is low, the bottom of the food pyramid can be swallowed foreign chemicals in the long run will be concentrated on the creatures of the inhabitants of the pyramid. Ways to tackle ground pollution, among others, by separating the waste disposal areas for solid waste decomposes easily unravel difficult and most important is to dispose of waste in placeExamples of Ground Pollution: Examples o f Ground Pollution Dealing with Pollution and Destruction of Environment: Dealing with Pollution and Destruction of Environment The methods to overcome pollution and destruction of environment are as follows : Increasing the quality of human resources through education or training on environmental awareness Developing facilities and infrastructure for environmental control Developing means of processing and distribution network of clean water Disseminating movements to economize water and take part in reforestation Determining control system of factory wastes by applying strict punishment in the disposalThanks For Attention : Thanks For Attention Wassalamu’alaikum wr.wb., Sorry, if there is something wrong with our presentation You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
