Jesus words to His discipleswww.biblegateway.com :

John 16:20-23 (Amplified Bible) 20 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that you shall weep and grieve, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.     21A woman, when she gives birth to a child, has grief (anguish, agony) because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she no longer remembers her pain (trouble, anguish) because she is so glad that a man (a child, a human being) has been born into the world.     22So for the present you are also in sorrow (in distress and depressed); but I will see you again and [then] your hearts will rejoice, and no one can take from you your joy (gladness, delight).     23And when that time comes, you will ask nothing of Me [you will need to ask Me no questions]. I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that My Father will grant you whatever you ask in My Name [as [a]presenting all that I AM].(A) Jesus words to His discipleswww.biblegateway.com

Conclusions :

God’s joy is within every believer who is regenerated and thus indwelt by the Holy Spirit for this is one of His manifestations. It is a core trait of His being. The believer is continually replenished from the root in the Lord and thus from this and other attributes they produce much fruit or works of faith with joy. Believers will be very productive over time and victorious over the sin, world and the devil as the Spirit leads them in to all truth and service with joy from blessing. We must remain in communion with the Lord and dependent on Him alone though He may send us some mentors for a time that may help us along the way. This way our cup will be always full of His joy and from this we are able to be ‘cheerful givers’ and servants of the Most High. The joy that indwells every believer is of God and is independent of events and happenings. Indeed the believer may suffer adversities, trials and great losses and do some in a state of joy and service to the Lord. Noone can take this from the believer who is blessed and filled continually in communion with the Lord. Conclusions
