The Institutes Foundations: 

The Institutes Foundations Multi-day, In-Residence, Retreat style event All Institute needs would be met on-site Programming focuses on broadening technical skills; enhance staff members knowledge base; provide for personal development and continuing education opportunities Encourage networking and contact between library staff from all library backgrounds. Remove participants from the work environment and allow them to be recharged and reinvigorated Instruction materials and techniques can be taken home and shared with co-workers Empower library staff to think more broadly about their jobs and to utilize ALL tools that may be available to them in service to their patrons

O.L.S.S.I. Developments after the 2003 Institute The Ohio Library Support Staff Institute began the process of changing from a group to an organization formalizing offices, subcommittees and structure O.L.S.S.I. adopted a new Vision Statement, organizational structure, and new Mission and Goals list (January 2004) O.L.S.S.I. became a section of O.C.A. which has given us a non-profit associate status and a tax-exempt condition through this association O.L.S.S.I. also now has it’s own insurance coverage through our new administrative/fiscal agency
