MOIMS Area Response to IOAG Resolution 8.7.1 Delta-DOR:

MOIMS Area Response to IOAG Resolution 8.7.1 Delta-DOR Greg J. Kazz MOIMS Area Oct. 26, 2005

IOAG Resolution 8.8.1:

IOAG Resolution 8.8.1 Need for Delta-DOR The IOAG.... resolves 1)      that for those agencies planning deep space missions, a standard is needed in 2006 covering the areas in “considering b)” above. It should however be noted that the highest immediate IOAG priority is to develop the Tracking Data Message standard.

MOIMS Area Response:

MOIMS Area Response Special Interest Group (SIG) formed between ESA/ESOC and NASA/JPL to discuss the formulation of a Delta-DOR Roadmap This SIG will issue a Roadmap by Dec. 2005 consisting of: - the interfaces to be standarized - its priorities (including a tentative schedule pending allocation of Agency resources) - if it is necessary to have an end-to-end architecture (tbd within the SIG) - how the work can be done in existing WGs (Ranging, Navigation, Cross Support Area) or if a new WG shall be created.

Areas of Interest:

Areas of Interest DOR Tones Raw Data Service to Transfer Data NAV ODM Reduced Data Quasar Catalog (Radio Signals)

Slide5:

Antenna 1 Storage Rx S/C Ground Station 1 Antenna 2 Storage Rx Ground Station 2 Quasar Correlator ODM Reduced Data Operational Control Centre 1 2 3 4 5 2 6

Also for Consideration:

Also for Consideration - An end to end discussion of the D-DOR processing that covers all of these elements and how they are combined to provide the desired service.  This is either Green Book or Magenta Book material, depending upon how it is written. - A description of the correlation processing, not the algorithm in detail, but the process itself - A description of receiver characteristics and some means to capture the receiver characteristics and settings in the meta-data. Note: These last two items may be covered in the GB / MB and they may appear as meta-data passed along in the transfered (raw and processed) data products, but they need to be described somewhere.
