Roman Soldier Letter Example : Roman Soldier Letter Example Dear Mom & Dad, Today has been a very busy day! It rained almost all night last night so we had to march in the rain, finally we made camp. I am soaked to the bone, being a soldier is really hard work, I wish I was home right now. I do have some Good news, I am no longer a foot soldier! Which means now instead of walking all 20 miles, now I can ride on the donkey to get a break. I am a scout now! That Means my job is to travel ahead of the legion and choose a level piece of land near a water source. Can you believe I’ve been a soldier for 15 years now, I am more than half way through my service! Only 10 more years to go, I sure hope I survive….
