And what about the products? What is their role in my success?

And finally - “How do I know what's important and what's not when investigating a company / opportunity?” As you can see by these questions this process can be a very intimidating and daunting task. Many people find themselves asking “How do I get the answers to these questions?” To be honest, you will have a hard time finding straight forward answers to these questions and that's why I made this video presentation. Our First Question Was: What do you look for in a company? The Answer: The savvy and seasoned network marketer looks for 5 very important things when checking out a company. They know from past experience these 5 things must exist in a company in order for it to have a chance at making it long term. They also know the “old” established companies that have made it, and made it big, share these same 5 things. So why are these 5 things so important to these seasoned networkers? The main reason is because they do not want to put their most valuable asset - their reputation - in jeopardy. Secondly they have no desire in wasting their valuable time with the wrong company. To illustrate the importance of this point even more, imagine yourself following a leader who knowingly aligned themselves with a company that doesn't have a chance to make it. How To Pick The Right Company Now imagine what you and your down-line will think of them and their abilities to pick a good company when things go bad. What do you think the chances are of anyone following this leader in the future? I can tell you – slim to none. And what do you think the leaders peers will think of them and their ability to judge an opportunity when this happens? Do you think they will want to follow this leader to another company in the future as well? To possibly damage their reputation too? I can tell you right now the answer to that is a resounding, “NO!” It's because of these potential problems that I want to share these 5 things with you. You need to know they exist and more importantly you need to know how to use them when you're checking out a company / opportunity. That being said I want you to know I have used them myself for years and they have served me very well. So I don't have a problem sharing them with you or endorsing them for your use. Now let's talk about those all important 5 things...

How To Pick The Right Company They are: 1) Front Office Leadership – The most important question here is; “Does the front office leadership (corporate managers, owners, etc..) have proven Network Marketing leadership and executive management experience?” 2) Field Leadership – Does the company have proven leaders / business builders in the field building big businesses and setting the example for other upcoming leaders to follow? 3) Proper Financing – If it is a new company is it funded correctly? In other words does it have secure long term financing? 4) A Unique Product Or A Product People Want – Does the company offer a product or line of products people are excited about? Products they want whether they build the business or not and products that provide a true and useful benefit to many people.

How To Pick The Right Company 5) Fair and Profitable Pay Plan – You want to make sure the pay plan is fair and equitable to everyone. From the new person just coming in to the business, to the person going from part time to full time, to the person that aspires to go for it all. And most important of all, does the pay plan create enough profit for the company and the distributor force? A fair comp plan needs to have it all covered. Special Added Bonus - Now here is a small tidbit piece of information I want to share with you. It's another one that has served me well over the years and it is this: “The two most important things I use to make my final decision about a company / opportunity is the Pay Plan and the Product.” Why just two out of the five? Because I know when all 5 things are present in a company / opportunity these are the two most important when it comes to building a successful business. Thus they should be at the forefront of my mind when I'm making my final decision. Bottom Line: If the company offers all the right things in those 5 categories and is in the right growth curve, then it has my interest. If that is the case, then I feel totally comfortable endorsing it to others and building a business in it myself.

Doing so will take the emotion out of the decision making process and allow you to make an educated decision based on facts instead of pure emotion and excitement. I know from personal experience taking this approach will serve you well during your company / opportunity search and for that matter for the rest of your networking career. So please use these five things when checking out any company or opportunity.

How To Pick The Right Company RECAP Question One Was: What do I look for in a company? The Answer: There are 5 basic things one must look for in a company / opportunity. Using those five things allows you to take the emotion out of the decision making process, allowing for a more educated decision. These five things give you a realistic way of judging a companies ability to perform. Remember, a company that does not posse the five things has a very low chance of making it long term in the business. Doesn't mean they won't, it just means the chances are very low that they will be around for many years to come. Meaning you and your business will not be around very long either, something which can effect your down-lines lifestyle and your ability to maintain your own. The Answer: That old saying, “Timing Is Everything” certainly holds true here. The reason it applies in Network Marketing is because you want to catch a company that is in growth phase 1 or 2. Anything beyond that is really not going to deliver the type of income and lifestyle change you want. Especially when you consider the effort you're going to be putting in to building a successful business. What is a Phase 1 or 2 company? It's basically the growth a company goes through in years 1 through 7. Suffice it to say it's more advantageous for you to catch a company in phase one or two than any other phase. That way you can leverage your talents, abilities, time and effort to create an income that you can only imagine right now. But allow me to give you a small glimpse of the type of money and lifestyle that's possible if you catch a company in the right growth curve.

How does that image make you feel? And can you feel the warm sun hitting your tan body? Does it relax you? Now search your body for stress. Can't find any? Could it be because your stress points are gone from your life? Does this image bring a smile to your face? It should:o) And your new car. Can you smell that new care scent? Can you feel your hands around that steering wheel? And how about the sweet sounds from that awesome sound system? Is that music to your ears? And what about traveling? Ever wanted to travel the world? Go to the Caribbean or Hawaii? Or how about Canada? Well guess what? Because of your business success you can now travel the world. And you can do it first class. Never again worrying about budget hotels or buffet dinners. No, from this point on you can eat whatever and wherever you want.

Now let me ask you; “How would living that lifestyle make you feel?” Can you imagine the piece of mind and comfort that comes with that type of lifestyle? Is that the type of lifestyle you want? One more question: “What kind of impact would it have on your life if you were living it right now?” Can you see that image in your mind? Hope so. It's a great life to have and one worth pursuing.

How To Pick The Right Company Now you can see why almost every networker dreams of catching a company in these growth phases. They realize the dramatic growth a phase one or two company goes through and the impact it can have on their income. Quite frankly it's not uncommon for their income to rocket skyward in record time. They also understand the impact this can have not only on their personal life but also on the lives of those they sponsor. Honestly, a phase one or two company can be a great thing for all involved if done correctly. Personally I encourage you, that is if you have the guts for it, to look for a phase one or two company. The rewards as you can tell are simply amazing. But they are not for the faint of heart. Now some people don't like phase one or two companies because of the risk involved. That's understandable. So maybe the older, more established and stable companies are what they need. There's certainly a lot of good ones to choose from. Personally, I want that wild and crazy ride, the money and lifestyle the new companies and opportunities present. I can do the stable ones anytime. But that's me, that's what I like and where I thrive:o)

The Answer: The company must be in a phase 1 or 2 growth in order for you to take full advantage of its money making capabilities. Now lets move on to question number 3

The Answer: This is a very important issue when making a decision about joining a company / opportunity. Here's why. Not only do you have to worry about what you're going to be paid for your efforts, but also what your growing down-line is going to be paid as well. Here's why this is important. Most people join Network Marketing to make money fast so it only makes sense (actually facts prove this point) that if your new people don't make money quickly they are not going to stick around long.Which affects your business and income. History has also proven that they don't have the patience to wait a few months for a good paycheck. Especially if they perceive the work they're doing isn't going to be reflected in their paycheck. End result? They say Bye, Bye business.

How To Pick The Right Company Same thing goes for leaders in your business. I can tell you from personal experience not many top performers are going to stick around if they're working their tails off to make pennies on the dollar. Ain't gonna happen... So how do you keep good people around? Well the answer to that is more than we can go into here but as we have already said one of the most important ways is to do your best in picking a pay plan that will reward your down-lines efforts and generate money quickly for everyone who wants or needs quick cash. So what pay plan is the best? That's hard to say. I have my preferences but like most things in life it boils down to a personal choice and what you want from a pay plan. What are my personal favorites? The Breakaway and the Modified Binary. I really don't like using the word “binary” because there are new plans out there that look like binaries on the surface but are really a combination of the four most popular pay plans in the industry. And from what I can tell many of them look to be nice to very good pay plans. So that is a welcome change in the industry.

How To Pick The Right Company These new pay plans are basically called Hybrids and I guess that's a good thing to call them, if just for the lack of calling them anything else. I don't have the time nor is this the place to get into a lot of details about the new plans but just know they are out there and that they may look a little funny on the surface when you first see them. Just keep this one very important thing in mind while looking at these pay plans - look past all the big money and bonuses to see if it's fair to everyone at every level. Do I like the “New” pay plans? I don't really know. I like where these new plans are headed and feel they are a major step forward towards a more rewarding pay plan for future Networkers. But for me, the jury is still out. But there are two companies that offer pay plans that I suggest you check out and they are - Agel Enterprises and MonaVie LLC. Now I'm not endorsing these companies or the pay plans. I'm just saying I really like their modified binary plans. Agel calls theirs the Quad-ra-plan. Now there's a chance they may have changed the name of their pay plan so if you do a search and don't see it, don't panic.

How To Pick The Right Company Just go to their corporate website to find it. All I can say is that's what it was called a few years ago. And if it hasn't changed much since I last looked at it, then I still feel it represents one of the better “new” plans out there. Another one I really like is MonaVie's pay plan. They really don't have a name for theirs but it's on their website. In my opinion it offers a lot of positives and very few negatives as well. To see why I like these plans I encourage you to go to Agel's and MonaVie's websites and download their pay plans. That way you'll get an idea of what a good to great pay plan is suppose to look like. What it's suppose to offer. How it's suppose to work with the distributor force, not against it. To motivate progress and rank advancement, not burden people with unrealistic guidelines. Anyway my main goal here is to show you the most popular and dominant pay plans in the industry. So on the following slide I will show you four of the most popular plans in use today. Most of these have been around a while but that doesn't mean they're always the best available.

How To Pick The Right Company Now you won't see any “New” or “Hybrid” plans I mentioned earlier on the slide because I can't endorse something I don't know very well. I don't know them very well because I haven't had the time nor the desire to look at all the new pay plans out there. But, ALL plans come from the ones I am about to share with you, or they are a combination of them in some fashion. Just keep that in mind while you're conducting your own research and you'll be fine. How To Pick The Right Company So lets now take a look at the most basic and most stable pay plans out there. Keep in mind they are the most popular for a reason, they produce results. (Not ranked in order of importance) 1) Breakaway Plan – been around forever and used by some of the biggest companies in Network Marketing. Very stable plan. 2) Binary – this has been around a long time as well. You can identify it by its unique two legged layout. Has been reincarnated many times in many different ways. Has a mixed reputation. 3) Matrix – this also has been around a while and in different formats. Not many companies use this. 4) Uni-Level – another oldie but one that is losing its appeal.

How To Pick The Right Company Although there are many choices regarding pay plans it's very important you understand that only YOU can decide which one offers what you're looking for. Don't let me or anyone else tell you which one you should use. My only goal was to share these with you so you know they exist. I highly encourage you to look at each one very closely to decide which one meets your needs. It also must help promote a product auto-ship program that creates enough volume for everyone to get paid fair wages for the work conducted by the distributor force. How To Pick The Right Company Question number 4 is: What about the products? What is their role in my success? The Answer: As I said earlier the product plays an important role in your success as well as the company's. I also touched on the fact people have to WANT the product each and every month even if they choose not to build the business in order for the company to achieve and sustain long term success. Obviously a successful company has a direct impact on your business and lifestyle so it's important you understand the products role in the company's success as well as yours. But before we get to that we need to address some other important things about a company's product line. And they are... 1) The product must be fairly priced 2) The product line must contain quality products 3) The product must produce results that are real to the customer 4) The product must meet and fill a legitimate need 5) The product must have some type of history of success or a long list of testimonials (this does not apply to a new product)

How To Pick The Right Company 6) The product must not be harmful 7) There must be no requirement to buy unusually large quantities for storage 8) The product must have a proper profit margin so everyone can get paid 9) The product must be an auto-ship or auto-renewal product or service 10) The product must not be associated with any outlandish claims 11) The product should be a consumable one that people will use monthly 12) The product must have the appropriate point value / price value ratio – in other words - not grossly over priced I share these with you to empower you with knowledge, not to overwhelm you with facts. So please don't try to remember these points while conducting your research. If you want to use them during your search then I encourage you to write them down before starting. Just please keep in mind I share these product insights with you so you can use them as a guide. Don't let them hinder your search or cause you to over analyze the product or opportunity. Please use them as I intended – to be a guide when checking out a company's product line.

How To Pick The Right Company O.K., now that we have that out of the way I want to share with you a small list of products that I feel you need to know about and be cautious of. But before I give you this list I want to put out this disclaimer. “In no way am I endorsing or knocking these products.” What I am doing is letting you know these products exist and that more times than not they do not produce the long term results I feel you need to develop that lifelong cash machine you want. Remember, you're the boss. You make the final decision on everything. My job is to let you know they exist and that you should exercise some caution when evaluating a company that offers them in their product line. Although my opinion is based on 20 plus years of experience I will not in any way imply I speak for or against them. Once again, what I am saying is be cautious about building your business using any of the following products:

How To Pick The Right Company Here they are... 1) Contact Lenses 2) Gas Cards 3) Gas Pills 4) Travel Programs 5) Golf Programs 6) Laundry Balls 7) Laundry Rings 8) Services – (long distance, cell, websites, etc...) 9) Commodity Based Programs Of course this is a small list but you get the idea. Now if you insist on being a part of a company that offers one of these products or services or something like them, then that's great. Just make sure you do your homework throughly. That means check everything out. Make sure the products and the opportunity are what they claim. That way you'll have no regrets later. If everything checks out and you still feel it's a good fit for you, then by all means go ahead and join.

How To Pick The Right Company RECAP Question Four Was: What about the products? What is their role in my success? The Answer: Without the product you would have no business. If people don't (including you) buy and use the product on a monthly basis then you don't have a business. Let me put it another way - If no product is bought or sold then no product volume on which you get paid is created. No movement of product = no volume = no pay! So the bottom line is, “If you don't have a product people want monthly year after year, then you don't have diddly...” Lets move on to question number 5

The Answer: As you can imagine leadership plays a very important role in your success in Network Marketing. But before we get into that I want to show you the different levels of leadership so that you fully understand the line of leadership and the role each one plays in your potential success in this industry. First level upline leader – is your personal sponsor Second level upline leader – is your sponsors sponsor Third level upline leader – is your sponsors – sponsor - sponsor Here is an illustration for you. How To Pick The Right Company First off lets discuss your personal sponsor. As shown by the previous illustration you have your direct sponsor, who obviously has a vested interest in your success and future, immediately above you. The Network Marketing business model and its ethics dictate you're to work directly with this person. That's a great idea if they're experienced and a good leader. If so then you have a great ally. If not, you have a problem. Unfortunately many times your sponsor is as green as you are and that isn't good for either of you. Answer to the problem? Align yourselves with a proven business builder that's getting the results you want. And that leads us to the next level of leadership in our example. On the second level you have your sponsors sponsor. This individual can play a critical role in your Networking success and personal life. Reason being if they have the experience and success your personal sponsor doesn't, then that's who you need to not only contact, but emulate and work with.

How To Pick The Right Company Now the only way you can personally work with this second level leader is if your personal sponsor and this leader agree that it's alright. Does this ever happen? Yes. Can this happen for you? Yes. So don't rule this scenario out. Why? Because according to your circumstances your future may well depend on you making this business relationship happen. But what do you do if this second level leader says “No”? Then you do this - Move on to the next level leader, then the next, and the next until you find someone in that leadership line that will help you. Which brings us to the level three leader. On the third level is your sponsors – sponsor – sponsor. I know, it sounds a little crazy but stick with me here. Once again this individual can play a major role in your life. Normally the higher up the leadership line you go the more successful people you will find. And like I said before, if you want to create a great lifestyle and live at the highest level then you need to shoot for the top of the payplan. And the only way

How To Pick The Right Company for you to make that happen is to work with someone who has already conquered that task and have them help you get there yourself. This level three leader just may be that person. If not, move on to the next leader. THE BOTTOM LINE: Realize your future depends on you knowing what you want from this business and then finding that person in the leadership line who has the type of business and lifestyle you want. Then do whatever you have to do (within legal and common sense boundaries) to contact that person. No matter how far up the leadership line you have to go. Hopefully this makes sense to you and gets across the importance of picking a leadership group or line that offers the leadership and business building system you need to succeed in this business. Don't feel bad if it doesn't. You'e not the first or only one. The leadership you pick should offer a Business Building System (BBS) that is simple to understand and and easy to follow. Believe it or not just because a leader is successful doesn't mean they took the easiest or smartest way to the top. It could have taken them years and a LOT of heartache to get where they are today and you don't need to do the same to yourself. So you need to know what makes up a good system in order to keep this from happening to you. To that end I've made up a small list of what makes up a good to great system. And yes, you should use this list to check out the Business Building System your potential sponsor and their up-line leaders are using and endorsing you to use. How To Pick The Right Company Characteristics of a good to great Business Building System (BBS). 1) Business Building Tools - It must offer proven and effective business building tools such as – webinars, conference calls, DVD's, tele-seminars and meetings. 2) Duplication – The system must promote duplication in every phase of the building process. Reason is you can't have everyone doing their own thing and expect growth. Instead everyone must be doing the same simple but productive things over and over in order for them to keep moving forward. Proper training ensures everyone knows exactly what to do and when to do it. That way everyone is doing the same things over and over and that's what starts and maintains that all important BIG MO – Momentum every business needs. 3) Self – Improvement Program - I know, many of you cringe at hearing this but chances are you're not the person, at this moment anyway, you need to be to lead a large number of people. There are certain skills one must posse in order to do that and most people don't have those skills when starting out.

(quicker and less expensive) So the only way you can speed up your leadership growth curve is to make sure the BBS you choose offers one. 4) Must Create Volume – The system must identify and show you how to generate the proper monthly product volume necessary for you and your growing business partners to get paid for the work everyone is putting in. 5) Must Promote Rank Advancement – It must show everyone how they can lay out a plan for systematic rank advancement in a timely manner. 6) Proper Sign Up Process - It must have a simple new customer / new business partner sign-up process in place so your business can grow every day without a hitch. 7) Support System - It must have an effective support system in place. This is important because if anyone, including yourself, has a problem that could damage or stop a business from growing then there needs to be a place where ...

How To Pick The Right Company Finally we have question number 6: How do I know what's important and what's not when investigating a company / opportunity? The Answer: A very good question and one most people overlook, often at their own peril. Allow me to explain why it's so important to your future. Checking out a new company or opportunity can be an overwhelming process. It can confuse even the most seasoned networker if they don't know what to look for. So to help you improve your chances of picking the right company that will provide you a realistic chance to achieve your Network Marketing goals I have identified on the next few slides the most important things you need to be concerned about regarding a new company / opportunity. Lets look at them now...

How To Pick The Right Company 1) The 5 Components – We covered these earlier in the video so you should be familiar with them. Just remember to have them in front of you when you start your search and make sure a company has each and every one of them before joining it. 2) Growth Phase Of The Company – We discussed this earlier as well, but you need to know where a company is in its growth phase if your goal is to make big money or have a major lifestyle change. Point being is catching the right company at the right time could the difference between you making six figures a year versus seven figures a year. 3) Tools – Bottom line is the organization you join (the person that sponsors you is in some kind of organization) better offer the right business building tools. Better yet, ones that work. And the organization had better not offer too many of them. Otherwise you will have massive confusion instead of massive growth. Plus too many tools could add more stress an already stressed out partner. They may feel it's not worth the extra time, effort or stress to learn and use all the tools offered and endorsed by the organization. So they quit.

It will not duplicate or produce consistent long term results if it's to complicated and cumbersome to understand or use. Once again it will stress people out and force them to quit your business. 5) Leadership – You need to follow people and organizations that know what they're doing. Their leadership should produce consistent growth in their organizations for everyone. They should be an interactive group that leads by example, not reputation. 6) Support – Is it there? Is it effective? Is it easily accessible to everyone? Does it provide real answers to real issues? If so how long do you have to wait for an answer to your question? 7) Up – Line / Sponsor Support – Where is your sponsor located? Your next in line leader? How accessible are they? Will they be there to help you? What is their track record with working with new partners? What kind of support do they offer? What time of the day are they available?

How To Pick The Right Company 8) Company Support – How long is the companies customer support open? Are they open on weekends? What kind of support do they offer? Do they have a toll-free number? A corporate website? Do they offer affiliate / distributer approved websites? Do they offer company to distributor force training? Do they offer business building tools? Business building seminars? 9) Organizational Training – Does your up-line leadership offer training? If so what type? Generic? Specific? When do they offer that training? How do they deliver that training? What is the training about? Is it to much? To little? 10) Self – Improvement Program – Do they offer one? If so how seriously do they take it or is it just lip service? Do they blow it off? What kind is it if they do have one? 11) Pay Plan / Rewards Program – Does the company offer a fair pay plan? Does it properly reward each pin level appropriately? Does it offer bonus programs? Are the pay plan goals and guidelines unrealistic? Do you have to work to long and to hard for to little return? How long before your first check?

How To Pick The Right Company How much can you make in your first check? (Is there a cap?) What type of pay plan is it? What are the pin rank advancement requirements? What is the requirements to maintain your income and pin rank each month? 11) Auto - Ship – What are the minimum auto-ship requirements each month to get your check? 100 pv? 200? What are the requirements to get paid the full amount owed you instead of a partial amount for not meeting the minimum auto-ship requirements? Do they have different level product kits you can purchase (100pv / 200 pv / 300 pv) or are all products packaged separately?
