The Righteous Judgment of God :

The Righteous Judgment of God By: Bishop Larry D. Williams

2 Thessalonians 1:3-7 ( KJV ) :

2 Thessalonians 1:3-7 ( KJV ) We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth ; So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

Slide 3:

In Paul’s day, Christians were severely persecuted for the stand they took in opposition to religious and political trends of their day by living faithful to Jesus Christ, no matter the cost. The characteristics of exceeding faith and charity of everyone coupled with patience showed the finer qualities of Christian living to a world indifferent to God and His will and in fact is very much the same today. To be counted worthy of the Kingdom of God came at a very high price. It still does today!!! The troubles we see today are a token of God’s righteous judgment to give us warning to flee the “Wrath of God” to come.

1 Timothy 1:18-19 ( KJV ) :

1 Timothy 1:18-19 ( KJV ) This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

Slide 5:

This should be referred to as a “doomsday” message because we are in spiritual warfare. Doesn’t it seem reasonable when we are in such warfare, that we act like it? Unless we have unwavering faith with a good conscience, we will be shipwrecked on life’s troubled seas. What do Christians do about this war?

1 Timothy 4:8-11 ( KJV ) :

1 Timothy 4:8-11 ( KJV ) For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. These things command and teach.

Slide 7:

We must live godly in a very ungodly world. Suffer the reproach of living for Jesus while working for Him. Those who are in “command”, command and teach.

2 Timothy 1:6-10 ( KJV ) :

2 Timothy 1:6-10 ( KJV ) Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

Slide 9:

Stir up the gift of God. It’s within you. Don’t be afraid of anything or anyone who opposes God. He gives us power, love and a sound mind. These are not crazy ideals or empty rhetoric. We do have the message for this day and this hour.

2 Timothy 2:10-15 ( KJV ) :

2 Timothy 2:10-15 ( KJV ) Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him , we shall also live with him : If we suffer, we shall also reign with him : if we deny him , he also will deny us: If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Things we need to do::

Things we need to do: Endure all things for the elect’s sake Mortify the deeds of the flesh Suffer with Him Believe Him Avoid useless arguments Understand the intent and content of the Word

2 Timothy 2:19-26 ( KJV ) :

2 Timothy 2:19-26 ( KJV ) Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour , and some to dishonour . If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour , sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes . And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men , apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Slide 13:

The preceding Scriptures teach us that God does know us. So, quit acting like sin is okay. Leave it alone. Help others recover themselves from the snare of the devil.

2 Timothy 3:12-17 ( KJV ) :

2 Timothy 3:12-17 ( KJV ) Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them ; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Slide 15:

Be thorough, God is!!!
