The Baptism :

The Baptism ( Eze 37:12) Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel . ( Eze 37:13) And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves , ( Eze 37:14) And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD .

1. Buried With Him:

1. Buried With Him (Col 2:5) For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ . (Col 2:6) As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him : (Col 2:7) Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving . (Col 2:8) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ . (Col 2:9) For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily . (Col 2:10) And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power : (Col 2:11) In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ : (Col 2:12) Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead . (Col 2:13) And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses ; (Col 2:14) Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross ;

2. Followers of That Which is Good:

2. Followers of That Which is Good (1Pe 3:13) And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good ? (1Pe 3:14) But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled ; (1Pe 3:15) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear : (1Pe 3:16) Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ . (1Pe 3:17) For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing . (1Pe 3:18) For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit : (1Pe 3:19) By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison ; (1Pe 3:20) Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water . (1Pe 3:21) The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ : (1Pe 3:22) Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him .

3. From Heaven, or of Men:

3. From Heaven, or of Men ( Luk 20:4) The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men ? ( Luk 20:5) And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not ? ( Luk 20:6) But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet . ( Luk 20:7) And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was . ( Luk 20:8) And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things . ( Luk 20:9) Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time . ( Luk 20:10) And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty . ( Luk 20:11) And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty . ( Luk 20:12) And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out . ( Luk 20:13) Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him .

4. Witness of His Resurrection:

4. Witness of His Resurrection (Act 1:13) And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus , and Simon Zelotes , and Judas the brother of James . (Act 1:14) These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren . (Act 1:15) And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty ,) (Act 1:16) Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus . (Act 1:17) For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry . (Act 1:18) Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out . (Act 1:19) And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood . (Act 1:20) For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take . (Act 1:21) Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us , (Act 1:22) Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection .

5. Walking in Newness of Life:

5. Walking in Newness of Life (Rom 6:4) Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life . (Rom 6:5) For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection : (Rom 6:6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin . (Rom 6:7) For he that is dead is freed from sin . (Rom 6:8) Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him : (Rom 6:9) Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him . (Rom 6:10) For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth , he liveth unto God . (Rom 6:11) Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord . (Rom 6:12) Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof . (Rom 6:13) Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God .

6. One Baptism:

6. One Baptism ( Eph 4:5) One Lord, one faith, one baptism , ( Eph 4:6) One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all . ( Eph 4:7) But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ . ( Eph 4:8) Wherefore he saith , When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men . ( Eph 4:9) (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth ? ( Eph 4:10) He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things .) ( Eph 4:11) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers ; ( Eph 4:12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ : ( Eph 4:13) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ : ( Eph 4:14) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive ;
