This was the trip that Michael coined the term “Psycho Chick Vacations”. We kept stopping so Marlene could dig up plants (Weeds!) to take back to Florida. Of course we were already stopping to photograph every barn we saw. Poor Michael, how did he survive us?

Marlene would take the photos from our trips and make scrapbooks. While I lived in N.Y., we made road trips to Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. Here’s a page from our visit to Boyd’s Bear Country in PA. :

In 2004 I moved to Michigan. Marlene came up in Fall, Winter and Summer. In 2006 we went to Greenfield Village in Dearborn. Marlene had visited the Village as a high school student. She brought her photos from that trip with her to compare then and now. She loved seeing what was the same and what had changed. Here’s a page from the scrapbook. It shows Marlene photographing.

Slide16:

In 2008 my cousin’s son, Max, came from Germany for a visit. Marlene joined us on our trip to Key West.

In 2011 we had a classic Psycho Chick Vacation. We spent a long weekend in Vermont hunting covered bridges. Marlene had a list of covered bridge GPS locations. We input them and just followed the directions. What an adventure we had!!:

This was the last page of the scrapbooks Marlene made of our first 15 years of vacations. Now our next adventure will be when we are both with the Lord.
