Political prisoners were sent there After Hitler became president, Jews, political prisoners, criminals, homosexuals, gypsies, the mentally ill and others were sent there Examples of Concentration camps: Belzec, Majdanek, Sobibor, Treblinka, and Auschwitz-Birkenau. Camps before the war : Camps before the war It was used already in the USA and by the British First german concentration camp was Dachau NSDAP party established them in Germany Served as political prisoner camp Camps during the war : Camps during the war Camps during the war : Camps during the war After the WW2 started, camps started to be a places where the enemies of the Nazis were enslaved, starved, tortured and killed. During WW2, countries controlled by Germany, like Poland, started to also have concentration camps Jews were sent into those camps the most Even small criminals, like stealers were sent to those camps Prisoners were marked by colored badges Treatment : Treatment Many of prisoners died in the concentration camps through disease, starvation, and overwork, or were executed as unfit for labor. Prisoners were transported by filthy train or camions in awfull conditions The route to the camps lasted even weeks, people died in those cars Many of them died due to Dehydration(lack of water) In 1941, Germans started to use 14f13 gases to kill the prisoners. Prisoners were sent to showers, and they were told to wash themselves, they breathed in the gas and died in place Treatment 2 : Treatment 2 People with bad conditions, disease were sent to those gas showers People with diseases couldn‘t get medical attention The camps were mostly build near big factories. Basically the prisoners worked for the company for free and were tortured Examples of companies: Plain companies, coal companies, rocket propellant companies etc. If a prisoner didn‘t work efficient or worked slow, he was sent to the gas showers Treatment of Jews : Treatment of Jews Jews were sent the most under those showers Hitler wanted to get rid of the Jews In 1942, the extermination of Jews was announced Jews have become a medical experiments They were freezed to determine how downed pilots were affected by exposure, and experimental and lethal medicines were all tried at various camps. Female prisoners were raped and degraded in the camps. Most cruel concentration camp was Auschwitz Liberation : Liberation From 1943-1945 the Allies liberated the camps.
