Delaware Energy An$wers for Home PerformanceEnergy An$wers for Business: Energy An$wers for Business Offers three funding avenues tailored to meet the needs of the individual business, large or small. Just An$wers – Grants for audits and feasibility studies Prescribed An$wers – Grants for lighting, refrigeration, motors, HVAC Customized An$wers – Grants for unique projects or comprehensive projects. Energy An$wers for Business - Eligibility: Energy An$wers for Business - Eligibility Available to residential and nonresidential electric customers engaged in business in Delaware and located in Delaware. Government facilities, state, local, municipal and not-for-profit facilities are not eligible for incentives at this time. No new construction at this time. All applications are subject to pre- and post- inspections for verification of eligibility. Delaware businesses may apply for any combination of the options up to $100,000 per facility or up to $200,000 for businesses with 2 or more facilities. Grants will not buy down any project beyond an 18-month simple payback.Just An$wers: Just An$wers Provides grants up to 50% of the cost of an energy audits and technical & feasibility studies. Grants are capped at $10,000 per business or $20,000 per business with 2 or more facilities. Based on the sq/ft of facility and type of audit: Preliminary Audits – not eligible Single Purpose or Target Audits – 50% of cost of audit not exceeding $0.05 sq/ft. Comprehensive Audits 50% of audit cost or $5000 which ever is less for first 50,000 sq/ft. 50% or $5000 (which ever is less) for first 50,000 sq/ft then $0.03 per sq/ft Prescribed An$wers - Lighting: Prescribed An$wers - Lighting Lighting T-8 lamps with electronic ballast - $10 per fixture for existing facilities. Occupancy Sensors Wall Mount $10 per control for wall or fixture mounted sensors with a connected load of 110 watts. Grants are determined by the calculated energy (kWh) and demand (kW) savings of the upgrade at rate of $100 per kilowatt of reduction in peak demand and $0.075 per kilowatt-hour saved, up to 50% of installed cost or an amount resulting in a simple payback of 18 months, whichever is less. May require a Professional Engineer to verify the predicted performance calculations. Projects eligible but not limited to: Building Envelope Steam/Boiler Improvements Process Heat Recovery Combined Heat and Power Compressed Air Improvements Chillers Variable Speed DrivesApplication Process : Application Process Customer completes application for qualifying upgrade Authorization letter from DEO confirms receipt and authorization to proceed DEO issues purchase order Customer orders and installs equipment Site inspection verifies completed work Payment request to fiscal; check mailed in about 10 days.
