(1 Samuel 1:11 NKJV) Samuel and Hannah: Samuel and Hannah "For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. "Therefore I also have lent him to the LORD; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the LORD." So they worshiped the LORD there. (1 Samuel 1:27-28 NKJV) A Molder Of Men: A Molder Of MenAmazing Grace (Sample Worship Song Layout): Amazing Grace (Sample Worship Song Layout) My son, hear the instruction of your father, And do not forsake the law of your mother; (Proverbs 1:8 NKJV) 2 Timothy 1:5: 2 Timothy 1:5 when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also. Moses and Jochebed: Moses and Jochebed And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Go." So the maiden went and called the child's mother. Then Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages." So the woman took the child and nursed him. And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. So she called his name Moses, saying, "Because I drew him out of the water." (Exodus 2:8-10 NKJV) Moses and Jochebed: Moses and Jochebed By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's command. By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. (Hebrews 11:23-26 NKJV) Slide12: Manufacturer Of MothersTitus 2:3-5: Titus 2:3-5 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things-- that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The LORD do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me." (Ruth 1:16-17 NKJV) Slide18: Merchant Of ModestyA Merchant Of Modesty: A Merchant Of ModestyProverbs 31:26-29: Proverbs 31:26-29 She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: "Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all." Titus 2:4-5: Titus 2:4-5 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Slide22: The failure of mothers and fathers have caused many problems in our society today. In so many households, parents are “buddies” and the children run things. In some households, parents have taught their children to do that which is sinful.Amazing Grace (Sample Worship Song Layout): Amazing Grace (Sample Worship Song Layout) He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother advised him to do wickedly. (2 Chronicles 22:3 NKJV) "Indeed everyone who quotes proverbs will use this proverb against you: 'Like mother, like daughter!' (Ezekiel 16:44 NKJV) The Meanest Mother in the World: The Meanest Mother in the World We had the meanest mother in the whole world! While other kids ate candy for breakfast, we had to have cereal, eggs and toast. When others had a Pepsi and a Twinkie for lunch, we had to eat sandwiches. And you can guess our mother fixed us a dinner that was different from other kids, too. The Meanest Mother in the World: The Meanest Mother in the World Mother insisted on knowing where we were at all times. You’d think we were convicts in a prison. She had to know who our friends were, and what we were doing with them. She insisted that if we said we would be gone an hour, we would be gone for an hour, or less. The Meanest Mother in the World: The Meanest Mother in the World We were ashamed to admit it, but she had the nerve to break the “Child Labor Laws” by making us work. We had to wash the dishes, make the beds, learn to cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry, and all sorts of cruel jobs. I think she would lay awake at night thinking of more things for us to do.The Meanest Mother in the World: She always insisted on us telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. By the time we were teenagers, she could read our minds, and life was really tough. She wouldn’t let our friends just honk the horn when they drove up. They had to come up to the door so she could meet them. While everyone else could date when they were 12 or 13, we had to wait until we were 16. The Meanest Mother in the World The Meanest Mother in the World: Because of our mother we missed out on lots of things other kids experienced. None of us have ever been caught shoplifting, vandalizing other’s property, or ever arrested for any crime. It was all her fault. We never got drunk, took up smoking, stayed out all night, or a million other things other kids did. The Meanest Mother in the World The Meanest Mother in the World: Sundays were reserved for church, and we never missed once. We knew better than to ask to spend the night with a friend on Saturdays. Now that we have left home, we are all God-fearing, educated, honest adults. We are doing our best to be mean parents just like our mom was. The world just doesn’t have enough mean moms anymore. The Meanest Mother in the World Manager Of Matrimony: Manager Of Matrimony (Titus 2:4-5) that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. (NKJV)A Manager Of Matrimony: A Manager Of MatrimonyEphesians 5:23-24: Ephesians 5:23-24 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Proverbs 31:10-12: Proverbs 31:10-12 Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. (NKJV)Titus 2:4-5: Titus 2:4-5 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. You’re Needed, Mom!: You’re Needed, Mom! Now that I no longer have a small child around the house to care for, I am sometimes the victim of acute bouts of the Almost Empty Nest Syndrome. There are times when I begin to question my value as a stay-at-home full-time housewife. Just recently, however I have begun to realize that I do have a place in the scheme of things and that there are certain functions that only I am able to do.You’re Needed, Mom!: You’re Needed, Mom! This realization first came to me when I noticed that I am the only one in the family who knows how to take down a Christmas tree. In an effort to bolster my ego, I began to make a list of all of the other jobs that only I can do. I am the only one who:You’re Needed, Mom!: You’re Needed, Mom! -Knows how to replace the spare roll of toilet paper. -Can close the basement door. -Can put leftovers into little containers instead of putting the whole serving dish into the refrigerator. -Knows where the scattered shoes of each family member belong. -Knows how to iron.Slide38: -Is able to take clothes out of the dryer. -Can repair a hem without using Scotch tape or staples. -Is able to rollup the cord on the vacuum cleaner. -Knows to let the dog out. -Knows that a dog that has been let out has to be let back in. -Isn’t afraid that the heels of the bread are poisonous. It’s nice to be needed. You’re Needed, Mom! -Carol SwiderskiModel Of Mercy: Model Of Mercy (Proverbs 31:20, 26) “She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy….. She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.”A Model Of Mercy: A Model Of Mercy1 Kings 3:25-27: 1 Kings 3:25-27 And the king said, "Divide the living child in two, and give half to one, and half to the other." Then the woman whose son was living spoke to the king, for she yearned with compassion for her son; and she said, "O my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him!" But the other said, "Let him be neither mine nor yours, but divide him." So the king answered and said, "Give the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him; she is his mother."Proverbs 4:3: Proverbs 4:3 When I was my father's son, Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother, Slide43: Portrait of a Mother A mother can be almost any size or age, but she won’t admit to anything over thirty. She has soft hands and smells good. A mother likes new dresses, music, a clean house, her children’s kisses, and automatic washer, and Daddy. A mother doesn’t like having her children sick, muddy feet, temper tantrums, loud noise, or bad report cards. She can read a thermometer (much to the amazement of Daddy) and like magic, can kiss a hurt away. She can also bake good cakes and poise, but she likes to see her children eat vegetables. Slide44: Portrait of a Mother A mother can stuff a fat baby into a snowsuit in seconds and can kiss little faces and make them smile. She is underpaid, has long hours, and gets very little rest. She worries too much about her children. And no matter how old they are, she still likes to think of them as her little babies. A mother is the guardian angel of the family, the queen, the tender hand of love. She is the best friend anyone ever has. A mother is love.Slide45: A Christian M. O.
