Slide 2:
According to Sherry Aiken, retirement can be a time of rebirth as we figure out what's really important to us. Retirement should be a well-deserved opportunity to decide who we want to become and what we want to learn in this new phase of life. A great way to do this is through volunteer work. Volunteering gives retirees the chance to experience and learn new things as well as share their own knowledge and skills with others.
With the holidays approaching, there are numerous ways to get involved and really be a part of your community, says Sherry Aiken. If you are a crafter, you can volunteer to help others learn your skill or spend your time making crafts to be given as gifts to families in need.
Coping with retirement can be difficult according to Sherry Aiken. The most important thing is to realize that you can make a difference in the world around you and that it's important to stay involved.
