What rights we have:

What rights we have On 9th December 2011 about 150 students from the 9th class were concerned with serious topics at the Kurt-Schumacher School in Karben : three representatives of the human rights organisation Amnesty International reported on their work on the occasion of Human Rights Day on 10th December. Some of the issues they dealt with were human rights violations all over the world, death penalty and procedures for granting the right of asylum within Europe. The students Yasmin , Ralph and Emely , taking part in the Comenius elective course, led through the programme. Within the scope of the Comenius project „Human rights in Europe“ carried out by eight European schools the project coordinators, Holger Schmidt and Anna Curto , invited Amnesty Frankfurt to this school event in order to explain to the students what they do to defend human rights and to answer their questions. At the end everybody had the chance to have a look at the campaign flyers and brochures of Amnesty and to sign some petitions .
