“I ran the half marathon this year after being off a whole year from a repaired torn meniscus. I just want to commend the pacer (4 hour). He was the best pacer I have encountered in all the years of my racing. I just ran the half Columbus Marathon and I really wish he was more like my Akron 4 hour pacer. He went way to fast and I ended up injury myself again trying to keep up with his "so called 4 hour pace" and had to bag the race. A HUGE thank you to the 4 hour pacer I had this year and hope I get him again next year. He was just awesome!”Lynn L., Road Runner Akron Marathon 2009 :

“I was in Elizabeth's pace group and she did a great job keeping everyone motivated in the group. Her constant motivation created a bond within the group and made it feel like a total team effort. I was just as excited for everyone in the group who crossed the line as I was for myself because it felt like we accomplished it together. She absolutely made this one of the best events I have ever participated in.”Christopher, Spirit of Columbus 2009 :

“Great job by your pacers in this morning's Spirit of Columbus half marathon.  I have run 21 half marathons in this is one of the best paced races.  I look forward to seeing your team again for the Air Force half marathon in 3 weeks.”Alexis T., Spirit of Columbus 2009 :

“I am dropping you a note to say how much I enjoyed the experience of running with a pace group at the Air Force Marathon last Saturday. The fellowship and camaraderie were great. This was my eleventh marathon and even though it wasn’t a PR it seemed like it was the easiest and most stress free race to complete. I struggled a little near the end and lost the group at about mile 23 and finished in the slightly disappointing time of 3:23:16 (7:45@). However I felt really good after the race. Yesterday, two days after the marathon, I ran a 10k in under 48 minutes (7:44@). I know that doesn’t sound like a big deal, but considering last April when I finished Boston in almost the exact same time (3:24:28), I could barely even walk for a week. I give credit for the quicker recovery to running a smarter and more evenly paced race – thanks to Mike.I look forward to running with your pacers in future events.  Thank you for organizing such a helpful and entertaining element to our sport!” Brad S. , USAF Marathon 2008 :

“I just wanted to pass along my sincere appreciation to your team for providing outstanding support during Saturday's Air Force Marathon.  Michelle was instrumental in getting me to meet my goal and provided outstanding nutrition advice during the run.  This was my seventh marathon and, thanks in large part to Michelle's advice, was the first I didn't "bonk."  In addition, Michelle was very encouraging to all the pace members and was very engaging and positive throughout.  Most importantly, the team hit their goal!  Thanks again for providing this very important service during the marathon.  It made a huge difference to me.”VR,Hugh M. “I just wanted to take a minute to send a quick note thanking you for coaching me through the last 6 miles of the Lakefront Marathon this Sunday. It made all the difference in the world. I will never forget your advice and encouragement that kept me running through the end of my first marathon when I was pretty much prepared to walk the last 6 miles and finish much later. You helped me dig deeper into my motivation and energy reserves than I knew I could at that point. It was not easy by any means, but I couldn't/wouldn't have done it without you. I will keep your words and that experience with me as I go on to complete more marathons, as well as my goal of 2 half-Ironmans (Spirit of Racine and High Cliff) in 2010, in preparation for the Wisconsin Ironman in 2011. I can't say enough about how grateful I am. Have no doubt that you have truly paid it forward.  Have a wonderful day and thanks again.”Emily, Lakefront Marathon 2009 :

“I am just contacting you to RAVE about what a fantastic job Sam did keeping the 4:00 group on track yesterday at the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon.  His enthusiasm and encouragement were priceless.  From guiding us through the water stops, reigning us in when we were picking up the pace too much to firing us up to tackle the rolling hills Sam was a true asset to my race, as well as others.  Please feel free to share this with him) This was my 3rd marathon and the first time with a pacer...I honestly don't think I could run a marathon without one now!  Many, many thanks to Sam and all the other pacers who helped so many stay focused and succeed in accomplishing their goals!  I hope to run Milwaukee again and truly hope the pace teams will be there as well!”Cheers-Karin S., Lakefront Marathon 2009 :

“This was my first marathon and what a wonderful experience it was. I could wear your ears out talking about it. I have had to find new friends as all my current friends have heard enough. Your organization was great, efficient; pacers were personable and well schooled. I willtalk you up and return again for another run in the future.”Anonymous, Freepress/Flagstar Marathon 2008 :

“I ran the Detroit marathon on October 19. My goal for the marathon was 3:30 so I followed Roger, the 3:30 pacer. I kept up with him untilmile 23 then started to lose steam. I finished in 3:31:47--a personal best! I couldn't have done it without the encouragement of Roger, the pacer. He had such a positive attitude, and kept a great pace the whole race. He also grabbed extra GU gels, extra Gatorades etc. for anybody who had missed a station or anyone who needed something along the way. He was great and I have nothing but positive feedback for this pacer. Thanks again for doing such a great job!”Mischa C., Freepress/Flagstar Marathon 2008 :

“I wanted to thank you for being there! It was so valuable having you there monitoring our pace and keeping me on track. I know my finish time never would have happened if it wasn't for you. Having you thereallowed me to focus on running, finishing, and dealing with the overall pain in my quads instead of having worry about my watch and pace. There were also points where I was just mentally toast and wanted to walk, slow down considerably, and even cry!!!! But since I could see you and knew that I needed to hang w/you at that pace or my dream of 3:50 was done. You kept me going when I didn't want to and I'm so glad I stuck it out.You were also kind enough, around 26 miles to ask me if I wanted to carry the 3:50 stick/flag with me over the finish and I just couldn't respond to you !!!! Then once I was done I didn't see you again and I wanted to THANK YOU for making my day special, definitely memorable, and a day I will remember forever due to my great time and that Iqualified. You did a great job for me and everyone who hung in the 3:50 group. You kindness and selflessness to run a marathon just to help others achieve their goal is so amazing that I cannot fathom it, but thank goodness for you Pacer Dave !!!”Maria G., Freepress/Flagstar Marathon 2008 :

“As a first timer, I wasn't sure what to expect beyond 20 miles. My experienced running friends told me to stick with the group and that's what got me through it from 17 to the end. Rick was a real steadying presence during those trying moments and kept the mood upbeat and positive. I'm really glad he was on this raceand hope to see him again at a future race to let him know how much he helped make my dream come true. I made it in 3:57:36!Since I missed seeing him after the finish line, please let him know Mitch from Columbus sends him a big high five and a huge thank you from the heart- I'll always remember this day, him, and our group.Great marathon, Detroit! Inspiring music, wonderful fans and all those dedicated fluid station workers, god bless 'em... I couldn‘t have wished for more! You're all awesome. And thanks to you, Jim, for organizing such a great crew- we may never meet but your efforts ended up making a difference in one of the proudest moments of my life. Thanks!”M. “I don't want to get long winded and boring because I know I can talk about my race for hours. I do want you to know that my experience never would have been the same without Johnny and the pace group. I wish I could tell him personally how much it meant to me and how I could not have run the race I did without him. I look back and think how different my experience was to most first timers. I know that I did all the training and preparation so all the credit can't go to Johnny, but I believe that race day is a lot more mental than physical. I never thought that I could run a marathon so relaxed and calmly. That only happened because of the entertaining, funny and calmly confident group atmosphere Johnny created.Thank you Johnny!!!! You really helped a nervous first-timer have the best 4 hours and 6 minutes of her life. I will never forget my FIRST marathon, you, or the 4:10 posse!”Rachel W., Freepress/Flagstar Marathon 2008 :

You guys rock!!!! I committed to the 4:15 today and want you to know that Betty is an awesome running cheerleader. What a lovely woman. I love her spirit and several people I don't even know shared the same comments about the "4:15 pacer". I finished at 4:18 as I ran conservative with several injury issues but was still pleased.I am so glad the pacers are out there because you lead so many to their finish line goals. This was my 10th marathon in my 6 years of running (not bad for picking up a new obsession in mid-life - 51 yrs). I will always run with a pace group. I should have emailed you last year when I ran my PR of 3:53 and qualified for Boston (running this past April). But all of the pacers I passed encouraged me so much that I just bypassed my goal hit an awesome PR for me!Keep up the great job and hope to see you again!!!L.Sawyer, Freepress/Flagstar Marathon 2008 :
