Learning Target 7: What happens during the 4 stages of mitosis By: Jessica Kidd and Dylan Casacci

What is mitosis::

Division of cells Has 4 stages 1 st - Prophase 2 nd – Metaphase 3 rd – Anaphase 4 th - Telophase What is mitosis:

Prophase:

Prophase Longest phase Chromosomes become visible Already duplicated Genetic materials condense Spindles

Metaphase:

Metaphase Second phase Double stranded chromosomes align lasts only a few minutes Spindle fibers align on the chromosome Centromere

Anaphase:

Anaphase Third phase Chromosomes split Becomes individual chromosomes Chromosomes move to opposite sides of the cell

Telophase:

Telophase Fourth and final phase also called C phase Cells split Disperse into a material Nuclear membrane forms around new chromosomes
