Slide 2:

The colours on the poster are browns. Brown suggests earthiness, suggesting that the poster is saying that despite being a comical drama, it is very down to earth. One review said that the reason they enjoyed the film so much was because the main character was someone they could relate to, and was down to earth. The title is bold and stands out from the poster. It is also at the bottom, drawing your eyes down the poster, looking at the poster and who’s in it. A clear picture of the main character. Although he isn’t an A-list actor, he has been in several films so will be recognised. There is limited mise en scene in this poster. The obvious ones are the clippers and the clothes. The poster places great emphasis on the main characters. They take up most of the posters space. The tagline can be taken two ways. The first is that it takes two to get over a problem. The other way is that friendship always triumphant. This shows that it is a very open tagline, open to interpretation. This means that people can make their own decisions about the film and the overall narrative. A list of the cast. Lots of the actors mentioned can be recognised. This shows that it is the main poster or a character poster. When we see the name, we can see the face of the two main characters. This is a good marketing ploy because there may be people who will look out for films with either of these two people in them. A list of people and companies that are involved in the film. This shows that this is a theatrical poster, made to inform its audiences. This movie is slightly different from other higher concept films in that the director isn’t well known. The actors are still up and coming and all get good reviews.
