the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay（火炬接力） : the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay（火炬接力） The Olympic flame(奥运圣火) arrived in Beijing on March 31. The host city for the 2008 Olympic Games started a ceremony（仪式） in Tian'anmen Square on that morning to welcome the Olympic flame from Greece and kick off an international torch relay. China's President Hu Jintao used the torch to light(点燃) a cauldron(圣火盆) , and passed it on to China's world champion hurdler, Liu Xiang, 1.then he declared the Beijing 2008 Olympics torch relay begun. It was the start of the Olympic torch relay. Inside China, the torch relay is going to pass through 21 cities over more than 30 days. The relay is supposed to last 130 days and covers a distance(距离) of 137,000 kilometres, passing through 19 countries, finally the flame will arrive at the National Stadium in Beijing on Aug 8,2008 for the opening ceremony. With its theme（主题）, “Journey of Harmony”, and its slogan （口号）2.“Light the Passion, Share the Dream”, 3.the 2008 Olympic Torch Relay will be an opportunity for BOCOG(北京奥申委) to share its Olympic message with the world.
