THE STORY: THE STORY The main character of the book: Hafid, who began his life as a camel boy, but who had grander ambitions His first attempt at sales ends in what he first considers disaster Instead of selling the robe his master has given him, he uses it to wrap a newborn baby in a cave But instead of being angry, Hafid‘s master, Pathros, takes this gesture as the sign he has been waiting for


THE STORY: THE STORY He presents Hafid with a chest containing 10 ancient scrolls Pathros‘s story ended, whereupon he instructed Hafid to go to Damascus and purchase a small supply of rugs Concerning the scrolls Hafid was told: to open each scroll, one at a time, and to study it until he fully understood its content to begin selling the rugs by applying the principles not to share the knowledge contained in the scrolls not to show the scrolls to anyone, until he himself was given a sign
