( 514 ) 217 - DOGS (3647) Registered Charity # 89830-1007-RR0001 Introducing Thelma Haimovitz and a Telephone Interview with Anne Dube, Founder of Rosie’s Animal Adoption Mike: How and why was Rosie's formed? Anne: Rosie Animal Adoption was formed 6 yrs ago after 2 volunteers left other shelters to form an adoption center for the homeless dogs. We truly feel that it is of the best interest of the dogs as well as the community that each is first vaccinated, spayed or neutered before adoption to stop the overpopulation of the unwanted dogs. This is not always offered at other shelters. Rosie Animal Adoption re-homes approx. 200 dogs a year. Education on guardianship of a animal is offered to all levels of schooling. We feel that this is a very important part of Rosie. Mike: Do you support the notion of more dog parks in our communities and why? Anne: Rosie Animal Adoption supports dogs parks for the socialization as well as the exercising of man's best friend. We believe that only non-aggressive dogs should be allowed to enter a dog park. As well as only dogs who have been fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered. A good exercised dog is a happy dog. We personally feel that less dogs would be given up if they were properly exercised.
