R-E-S-P-E-C-T : 1. R-E-S-P-E-C-T Just as our parents taught us as a kid, apply it now: Treat others as YOU want to be treated. Treat workers with respect will make a happier worker. A happier worker means one who will be happier to serve you. A unhappy worker means one who will ruin your reputation after her shift is over. Family Guy Moment of Truth : Family Guy Moment of Truth Commandment #1- Shut the H*** up. Commandment #2- There’s nothing I can do about the Sun. Commandment #3- When we pass a billboard, do not say it’s message out loud! 2. Don’t shoot the Messenger. : 2. Don’t shoot the Messenger. 99% of the time, the retail worker at Target is not responsible for out-of-stock products. 80% of the time, the retail worker at the grocer is not responsible for spilled liquids on the floor. 50% of the time, the retail worker at Wal-mart is not responsible for your card not being accepted. 3. Put stuff back in it’s place. : 3. Put stuff back in it’s place. Don’t want that steak tonight? Put it back in the freezer section, where you found it. It costs the Store $$$ when food gets spoiled Which costs you money later on. Which makes an unhappy customer. Which goes back to #2 on the previous slide. Same thing applies to any product that is pulled off the shelf and not put back properly. Screaming Kids at the Store-Syndrome : Screaming Kids at the Store-Syndrome It’s not MY problem that you can’t control your kid! 4. I’m not a babysitter. : 4. I’m not a babysitter. My job is retail-related, not babysitting-related. Screaming/Tantrum-sobbing kids makes everyone’s shopping sour. And makes employees less likely to want help you. Think about it: Kid screaming. You trying to get help. Employee getting agitated. That and people avoiding your cart. 5. Get off your cell phone! : 5. Get off your cell phone! Emergencies, yeah they happen, and that’s excusable. Talking on your phone whilst kid is screaming….or….. Talking on your phone when at the register…. =“Me, me, me” Syndrome Really, you can chit-chat with your friend at home. Cause we don’t want you to be talking and driving either. This also goes back to #1. RESPECT, so don’t be rude please. 6. Common Courtesy does wonders : 6. Common Courtesy does wonders Really, saying thank-you, please, sir/ma’am goes a long way. You can even make an employees day with little gestures like that. And most of the time, the worker will be much happier to serve you the next time you shop. So remember, do you want….. : So remember, do you want….. This? Or This? The End.
