Overview of the Campaign Goal: Observe the vertical profile of brown clouds and clouds over the Hanimadhoo observatory and measure the horizontal gradients of brown clouds and cloud properties; both North into the Arabian sea and South of Hanimadhoo into South of equator at least to Gan. II. Duration October 15 to November 15 III. Platforms: Primary Platform: Island Aviation Dornier Aircraft Supporting Platform: Autonomously flying Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle Validation Data : Provided by ABC-MCO at Hanimadhoo and Gan Islands IV. Flight Plans: During the first half (Two weeks) Dornier will fly one day and the UAV the next day. The UAV flight will be scheduled at least two hours before any commercial flights take off or land. Each UAV flight will last for less than one hour; There may be about one to three flights each day when the flight is scheduled. During the latter half of the campaign (last two weeks), depending on the success of UAV flights, we would like to have Dornier and UAV on the same day.
