The gods they worshiped was always represent in an annual way. Different Gods And Goddesses: Different Gods And Goddesses Amun-Re: Amun-Re Amun-Re was the principal god during the New Kingdom time. Amun means “hidden”. He was a god that had mysterious nature that the other gods were unaware about. Thoth: Thoth This god has a curved beak like a crescent moon. This god is the symbol of the moon. He gave the Egyptians knowledge of a lot of things. Ex: Writing, Medicine, and Mathematics. Bastet: Bastet This was a cat goddess. Bastet represented the power of the sun to ripen crops. She was the daughter of Ra, the sun god. Anubis: Anubis This god looked like a jackal. This god would protect the dead. Anubis always looked after the place were mummification was done. Osiris: Osiris He was the god of the underworld. He was called “Foremost Of The Westerns”. Tawaret: Tawaret This goddess looks like a pregnant hippopotamus. Tawaret protected the women during pregnancy and childbirth. Ma’at: Ma’at Ma’at was the goddess of truth, justice, and harmony. She was another daughter of the Sun god Ra. She communicated with the balance of things on Earth. Nun: Nun Nun is the god of waters of chaos. He is carrying a bark to representing the boat to flow on waters. Sobek: Sobek Sobek was the god of the Nile. Live crocodiles' were kept in pools at temples to honor Sobek. This god looked like a crocodile. Nephthys : Nephthys Nephthys was the protective goddess of the dead. She was the sister of Isis and Osiris, and the wife of Seth. She is often seen on coffins, or in funeray scenes. Khnum : Khnum Khnum was a god creator. He was also the god of the yearly flooding of the Nile. Kehpri : Kehpri He was the god of creation, the movement of the sun, and rebirth.
